which John Tiller squad game is the newest one?

Hi.

Can anyone tell me which squad game from John Tiller is the newest one? I guess it has the most features.

Looks like the three newest are:

Squad Battles First World War (Nov 2012)  (oops, missed this one originally)
Squad Battles Falklands (Aug 2011)
Squad Battles Modern Wars (Dec 2010)

 I have WWI and am pleased with it.

It is much more slow moving than, say Dien Bien Phu.

The artillery barrages during the Somme etc. seem to last forever. It really gives you a feel for trench warfare at it's grittiest.

Of the 3 above:

If you want smaller scenarios then Modern Battles has the most of these.

World War One scenarios tend to be larger.

Falklands is in between.

Where World War 2 is concerned Red Victory seems to be the title of choice. Lots of scenarios with a good range of scenario sizes.

Eagles Strike is the only west front title. In terms of latest features all the titles have ongoing support from HPS and John Tiller. Lots of 3rd party content for many of the titles.

Yeah, the older titles have still been getting updates too.  I'd say go with one with a setting you're most interested in.

I've got a couple of favorites, but as Nefro has state pick the conflict that interests you and give it a go.

Take note that later titles do have better scenarios because of the years of experience used to design them.  Older titles may have unbalanced ones and weird victory objectives because everyone is still unsure of the rules and the odds.

Also upates may also spoil scenario balance. The engine is always kept updated with fixes and rules tweaking but the scenarios are not re written to consider these changes.

All in all, old titles are still fun. Just don't get to caught up with the points system and scenario balance unless you do competitive PBEM like I do. The blitz database will be able to tell you the balance of each SB scenario.
