Did someone say Warlock?

Aw Crap!  :o

Yeah MD, I don't know how long I've owned it but I just fired it up for the first time yesterday and I'm really enjoying it so far.  It's very well done.  I think I like it better than Civ but I'm partial to anything that adds a D&D flavor.

The fantasy units, the magic spells, the city building, all conspire to keep me enthralled for over four hundred hours of gameplay.  And I am STOKED for Warlock 2!

KyzBP, Warlock is a lot of fun to do MP

Let me work on this a little more and then I'd be in for an MP game.

Awesome!  Are you in the Grogeahds Steam group?  I don't see you on my Friends list.  Unless you go under a different alias.  I am stophro on Steam.

Look for Kyzmo.  I'll try to friend you if I get a second.  I have some Ogres rampaging through my little island right now.

Bison

Played some SWTOR leveling my Sniper and some Neverwinter leveling and relearning how to play my Control Wizard.

I might break out a real wargame this evening or perhaps pick up the new Tiller game.

Bloody hell!  Cooling pump and memory die last week and then the G940 FFB joystick I bought less than two months ago craps the bed tonight.  It's getting to be an expensive month.

Did your power supply start acting up or something?  I'd check the voltages and such just to be sure it didn't have a stroke and start frying stuff.

Panzer Battles Kursk and some Squad Battles Grenada. I'll have to check and see whether my campaign in Commander: The Great War is going to survive the update.

Yep -- Panzerbattles Kursk (PBEM and solitaire).  Seems pretty classic.

Nope.  Feels like something got jammed in the gears or the Pot centering is shot in the joystick.  I tried pulling it apart to take a look but they've designed the housing in such a way that I can't simply take it apart to access the working bits.  I'll have to physically cut it apart to get at it.  Maybe next week.  Having the throttle and pedal connections go through the joystick to save on USB slots might be convenient, but it means if the stick goes, the whole unit is useless.

Pump went because of a hairline crack, not power.  Dunno why the memory went but at least that has a lifetime warranty.  I've submitted the RMA request through Corsair.  Now to see if they honour it.

Man, that sucks.

When it rains, it pours, huh?

I recently had a big damn possum take up residence under the hood of my pickup.  It ate through every goddamn wire in it within two days time!  Some it even gnawed all the way to the end.  I won't mention how much it cost me to replace all the stinking wiring in the thing, but a few days later when I got back the little fucker returned and commenced to doing it again.

Needless to say that bastard is worm food now.   It's still infuriating when you get Murphy'd hard.

Silent Disapproval Robot

Yup.  Been a bloody irritating month what with PC issues, Fitbit recalls and rashes, and the recent rifle kerfuffles.  March had better be better.

Toonces

On the non-possum front, so far I've played Silent Hunter 4, BMS Falcon Israel Theater, and Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2.

Not sure for the rest of the evening.  All this talk about Tiller has me considering Squad Battles Dien Bien Phu.  I'm kinda in an MP mood, though and crazy enough I'm thinking about some Chivalry.  Too many games...

Toonces, how well does Squad Battles Dien Bien Phu play. I've a long time interest in the period and that battle in particular so I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

I'm waiting to see if MMP finally get around to publishing 'Storm Over Dien Bien Phu' which will be a must-buy for me.

I didn't get to it last night- I played Silent Hunter 4 instead, and then watched a few episodes of Season 1 of American Horror Story.

In general, I just don't like Tiller's games.  I want to like them, and there aren't many alternatives to something like his Squad Battles games.  But something about the interface just chafes me.  It feels very archaic to me, and they're all basically variations on the same interface.  I've finally figured that out.

I might be getting crankier as I get older or something.   :o

^Thanks for the info. I admit I'm not a great fan of his games either, but its a subject with such limited cover that I was willing to look at anything.

You'll be Ok when you get through the cranky barrier, where you emerge as a miserable old git (well, I did anyway)  ;)

Pretty much wasted my weekend playing Neverwinter.  It's not a horrible MMO, but it has a horrible micro-cash shop side to it.  They freaking want you to lay down real money for just about everything.  It's a decent enough time sink, but good grief enough with the cash shop already.

Those can be annoying as is but Neverwinter took it to a whole new level of confusion.  It seemed like there were eighty different currencies, pay trinkets, and wotnot that would each have it's own special use or exchange tables.  The cash shop mess, alone, scared me away after a short stint.  I wanna game, not spend my time trying to learn convoluted cash shop systems!  The action-y gameplay wasn't too bad, however.
