I would like to know what you might think of Blitzkrieg: The Complete Anthology ?
Does this game require a internet connection? Their seems to be a dispute as rather  StarForce copy protection system is being used in this game.

I doubt that an internet connection is required seeing that Blitzkrieg used SecuROM and Blitzkrieg 2 used StarForce according to DAEMON Tools, but that doesn't mean The Complete Anthology uses either. There is no indication on its Amazon page what DRM it utilizes.

GOG.com sells the Blitzkrieg Anthology which includes the original Blitzkrieg, and its three expansions: Blitzkrieg: Burning Horizon, Blitzkrieg: Rolling Thunder, and Blitzkrieg: Iron Division for $9.99 U.S.
GOG.com also sells the Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology which includes the original Blitzkrieg 2 and both its expansion packs Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich and Blitzkrieg 2: Liberation for $9.99 U.S.

I bought both from GOG.com for 70% off during their Winter Sale awhile back, so they can both be purchased cheap from there if you bide your time.

And my understanding is that Gog stuff is all drm free, right?

Yes, it's always DRM free. (Although for older games they come bundled with tweaked versions of DosBOX running in the background.)

Adding to JP's post:

DosBox is just an emulator that helps you run old DOS programs on a modern Windows OS.  It's not DRM.

BK is one of the best RTS I've ever played. I own the 5-disc Anthology, as well as Mission Barbarossa and Mission Kursk.

Blitzkrieg's an excellent game, as are its expansions. The sequel not so much.

If you buy it, be sure to get a mod or two that balances artillery so you don't get blasted immediately when you advance, it can turn the artillery-heavy missions into a quick load/quick save sequence with some fighting in between.

This game sounds a lot like Axis & Allies  that I liked a lot. A&A was highly moddable, more so than games like Civ IV or HOI2.  Is  Blitzkrieg?

The Blitzkrieg series (being the direct or spiritual successor to Codename: Panzer 1 & 2) is a real-time tactical top-down 3D game. Anyway, the boxes I own but have never played are like that, as are the screenshots at the links. :)

If so, then it's nothing like Axis & Allies, other than WW2 theme.

A&A has a number of official computer adaptions out in various places, but I expect the most regarded one isn't "officially" an A&A game at all: Gary Grigsby's World At War: A World Divided. My brother loved playing A&A, and if he was back to playing computer games and asked me about an adaptation I'd point him there. :) It's obviously A&A (same art style and play mechanics), just not "officially". ;) You seem to have played an official port of A&A already, but if you wanted a souped up ultimate version (which I suspect is also very moddable like most Matrix releases), I suggest that.

The Blitzkrieg series is much more tactical and action oriented, with a series of missions in a campaign, each mission covering an area a few square miles at most. Like Company of Heroes but more old-school.

You mean Sudden Strike 1 (2000) and 2 (2002). Blitzkrieg (2003) was released before Codename: Panzers - Phase One (2004)
