Tough one to call. My wife loves Jersey Shore and the British equivalent, Geordie Shore. Awful programmes but I've also seen some of Glee and would prefer to endure Jersey Shore....as long as I'd been plied with plenty of alcohol first.

For the last several weeks I had been following the series Secret War on the military channel.

Good stuff discussing lots of SOE ops during WWII.

However, for the last two weeks it's been missing. Not sure if it's been cancelled or just run for the season and will be back. I've rather enjoyed catching up with all these crazy heroes and the wild stuff they did.

I DVRed a series called "Wish Me Luck" which I've just started watching which is the story of some of the female operatives they dropped into France. It's pretty good so far but I've got a ways to go.

In May the spectacularly good "Sherlock" returns to Masterpiece Mysteries on PBS. Watch it -- it's spectacularly good.

^First of all, my apologies to Martin Freeman, who played Arthur Dent in the movie version of HGttG, and actually plays WATSON in the spectacularly good Sherlock reboot.

Secondly, just learned that Benedict Cumberbatch (perhaps the last great British name), who does actually play Holmes in the spectacularly good Sherlock reboot has been signed by J.J. Abrams for his Star Trek reboot sequel. The rumors are he will play Khan.

Cumberbatch is one of the reasons why Sherlock is so spectacularly good. He was also quite good in the latest Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He's going to make any project better, so I think this is a great addition to the Star Trek cast.

I'm also inordinately pleased that if we can get Kevin Bacon linked to either Martin Freeman or Benedict Cumberbatch, we'll have Six Degrees of Star Trek, Sherlock, and The Universe's Third Worst Poetry.

Benedict Cumberbatch is also in a five part series called 'The Last Enemy' which is available on Hulu Plus. Not sure about Netflix.

On an other note, in the latest episode of 'Castle' I was surprised to hear Nathan Fillion's Character Rick Castle refer to another character as 'some Douche'! Network television is sure opening up a bit compared to even just a few years ago! I wonder if the script said 'some dude' and Fillion inadvertantly ad-libbed as he has been known to use the other term in some web-based media in the past.  :D

Cumberbatch is also going to be Smaug in the Hobbit. With all the big movie roles coming up, he may soon be too big a star for TV.
