I bought the new DLC and fired FE up again. I've hardly come up for air  8) It's a great game.
You're liking the new content, then?  I've been eying the Leader Pack, but have been waffling on it so far.

The game itself is solid and a lot of fun. The new leader pack is simply more choices. I'm not sure how it impacts the game so far, if at all, but I'm enjoying plugging in some different leaders and see where the game goes.

^Hmm...sounds like I am leaning more towards FE. I LOVE the idea of Civ in a fantasy world.

Surely endless legend then?

I don't have ANY of the DLC. Do any of them really add much?

Just began to look at Endless Legend last night, I need to look some more.

How many factions are there in FE?

There are 10 in Legendary Heroes -- 5 Kingdoms and 5 Empires.

Gus, I would go with FE. I enjoy Endless Legend but it's an alpha. FE is a game with years worth of work and DLC

Right now I would start with FE:LH.... it is cheaper and a good place to start.  I still like AOW3, however I feel it needs some more tweaking and I hope the same mods that were released for the previous version will be released for 3.  Both games will remain on my HD and I like them both for different reasons.

Endless Legend I will purchase, however will wait until it is at least in beta version.  If I were starting out today, I would start with FE:LH and play that for now, is a mature product with several DLCs.... AOW3 will probably have seen some tweaking, mods, and maybe cheaper by the time you get ready to look around.... but I would differently purchase both.

I have never played a AoW game. I bought the super deluxe first iteration of FE but ever even opened the box to oggle the pewter dragon because of the bad reviews it got at the time. Sounds like it's time to return to Stardock and forgive.

In FE are there any fundamental differences between kingsoms and empires? How often does FE go on sale?

The Empire are the bad guys, the Kingdoms the good guys. Basically.

Well, I tried AoW3 and it is nice and shiny but for me I seem to prefer Enchantress. I'm not sure why, it seems deeper and more solid all round.
At the moment I'm playing Master of Orion 3 with the vanilla mod fix and I'm hooked so after I've finished my first game I'm going straight back to Enchatress to check out this new DLC.

Every few months, and during the Steam seasonal sales.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

Hold on, Gus

You know, I'm not sure why this didn't occur to me before (general addle-mindedness, probably ::) ), but depending on exactly when you purchased that "super deluxe" edition of Elemental, odds are good you're entitled to a free copy of Legendary Heroes already.

I say this, because I did the same thing as you (purchased the deluxe edition of E:WOM, complete with pewter dragon).  I don't remember precisely how it worked now, but because of that -- and because of the first game's poor reception, and Stardock wanting to make things right with those who'd purchased it -- I subsequently received both a free copy of FE and FE:LH when the two later titles were released.

At this relatively late date, I'm not sure what all you'd need to do to get your complimentary copy of FE:LH, Gus, but you're almost certainly entitled to one.  I'm thinking Stardock support could help you out if you contacted them.
