Nice. I have the PPS. Does your PPQ have the threaded barrel?

How do you find the sights on the PPS?

I'd like to make an adjustment to the windage on mine but there doesn't seem to be any way to do it other than a drift pin and a hammer.  I'm worried about breaking the tritium night sights if I start whaling on it.

I don't think I've actually shot the PPS, yet.  I have more guns that I have never shot, than guns that I have...go figure.

Why is that?  It surprises me is all.  It's not like a boardgame where you have to get out the rules, read 'em, find a partner to play it with, and so on.  I'd expect you'd take a new gun to the range the first Saturday after you got it.

This is all pre-NY nonsense, of course.  I can understand why you wouldn't shoot this weekend, for example.

You don't realize just how large of a collection we are talking about. Not only is it large, its diverse. Some of them are a pain in the ass to clean after shooting and I have so many, I hate relearning the entire process.  Moreover, with so many different calibers, it became expensive to keep all of it in stock and to replenish, especially when the panic buying started out here.  It was always just so much easier to grab an AR or an AK and stick to something that I could strip and clean in my sleep.

Good point.  I hadn't even thought of that.  I guess learning to properly disassemble, clean, and reassemble a new gun can be quite a process...and if you don't keep doing it you forget how...

Awesome.  That makes perfect sense.

Still, that Tavor is pretty awesome.  If I was going to get a gun, that's something I would definitely want.  I wonder if it's fun to shoot?  It seems kind of a weird set up with the trigger in the front like that.

Its called a "bullpup". It permits a firearm which is chambered in a standard rifle round to have an overall shorter length than a typical rifle, without sacrificing barrel length. Most of them are extremely comfortable to shoot and very easy to manipulate and maneuver. While I never was able to get a Tavor, I did manage to get these before the fall...

It's shocking how little some of you Navy boys know about guns.  :uglystupid2:

I never fired the thing but I did fiddle with one in the store and I've chatted with a couple of guys who have them at the range.  They all had roughly the same opinion as this guy.

Having said that, there might be some differences between the US version and the Canuck one.  The one available in the US is made in the US.  The one in Canada comes from Israel.

That's a neat idea about the barrel.  Looking at that FN FS2000, so I can see how you put the butt onto your shoulder and would have your shooting finger on the trigger, but the remainder of the stock seems awfully short for your other hand to rest on.  Maybe it has a hidden folding handgrip for your front hand?  Anyway, that's an extremely cool looking rifle...looks like it's from HALO.

When I get out to Rhode Island we'll have to get together for a shoot, and a beer afterwards.  I'll be we won't even be two hours apart when I get out there.   :P

It looks like that pic of the FS2000 has been 'shopped at the bottom of the rifle somehow. The mag protrudes farther than the bottom of the 'pistol grip' area yet they both seem to touch the display base, and not even in the same plane created by the rifles length. The photographer must have digitally removed some little doohicky that the grip was resting on to keep the whole rifle level.

Not that it's important or anything but it looks weird, like that famous pic of those Chinese bureaucrats who seemed to be floating above the road they were standing on.

BTW have any of you fired a P90? What sets it apart from the other bullpup designs? Besides the expensive ammo, that is.

We will definitely meet for beer, laughs and a shoot. However, since I'm now living in a place that is like post invasion Red Dawn, we'll only be shooting shotguns and  rifles with no pistol grips or detachable mags.

Nothing is cut off on the photo. The gun is supported on a rifle stand that is inserted Into the mag well. There is no mag inserted into the rifle in that picture.

I have shot a p90 both fully automatic and semi auto. Other than the 5.7 round, the mag is unique in that it is top loaded and typically has a capacity of 50 rounds.
