Well, you can fit more stuff onto larger hulls.
I think we're wondering more about the smaller ones, SoM

In other words:  Is there any point to building Destroyers if we can also build Cruisers?  Likewise, is there any point to building Cruisers if we can also build Dreadnoughts?  Etc.

Joy!  We'll be able to dodge Steam when the game hits retail on 24 August!

I hope they aren't being forced into a release date of the 24th, ready or not.

Legends of Pegasus is coming out first. Weird.

Provided it doesn't get pushed back again, of course...  :P

Actually, given that Legends of Pegasus was announced long before Endless Space was, what's surprising is that the latter's release date is coming only a month after the former's.  It would indicate that development on ES is progressing much more quickly (too quickly?), and/or that development on LoP wasn't nearly as far along (relatively speaking) when it was first announced.

Your above statement on the timetables of the two games has left me flummoxed. But I get the gist of what you're saying. Either way I will be buying them both. Actually I already bought Endless Space.

Just a heads up...Looks like there may be an Alpha 2 release on Steam today.  I can't find the original link where I saw the dev mention it, but here is a link to the A2 release notes (the A2 notes are the 2nd item in the link)...

Wish I had some time to be playing ES, but all my free time lately has been spent on Warlock

Certainly this is turning out to be the best year for tbs in a long time.  And we still have X-Com, Twilight Struggle, and Master of the Broken World to come.
