Very promising game.

Is there a sandbox mode campaign I wonder or is the player limited to playing the 16 mission story driven campaign?  Their website doesn't indicate anything other than the 16 mission campaign.

I've had half an eye on this as well.  It's not a true 4x title, but still looks like it could be fun nonetheless.

I believe there is a sandbox mode, although I have no idea at this point where I read that (it was quite a while ago now).

There will be a random generator. It will come as a release day patch.

Anguille, are you getting this one then?  I'm interested, but am not sure it's a "must-buy" for me.

Heh; excellent.  Am quite curious to get your thoughts/feedback on it.

I'll give my impressions on the release version (they have made some changes since the beta)...

My big question is what sets this one apart from Conquest and Homeworld? What does this one bring new to the table?

I will adress these points when i have more gameplay under my belt. It's closer to Conquest Frontier Wars than to Homeworld, that's for sure (will replay Homeword till then).

What's the latest consensus on this one?  It looks interesting and is 66% off in the Steam sale until Jan 5.

I finished the campaign (16 missions). It was fun and the story is good, some missions are really tougth while others are much easiers. The battles themselves do not require much tactics but the overal strategy is very important and you need to make sure you have the right ships at the right place. The game has been updated many times, not sure if the game is bugfree but it's stable and fun...skirmish has been added also but i haven't played that yet.

It's not a huge game but i think it's worth it, especially for that price.

Personally...I thought this game sucked.  You seemed really engrossed in the campaign so I gave it another shot.  Still, I thought it sucked.  Oh well... :-[

I see the title on this one and think of that other game with 'gemini' in the title - Starpoint Gemini!

What was that RTS / Homeworld wanna-be called that had organic spaceships that used to leech blood out of the enemy and cannabalise stuff.. sort of Vorlons in space stuff. Wish I could remember that one, sure it had a Gemini in it's name too! Unless I'm going senile.
