^Based on that preview video over at Steam I'm convinced that this game is a must have!   O0

I'll be streaming To End All Wars herehttp://www.twitch.tv/thehistoricalgamer in about 6 hours, from 12pm cst till 2-3pm ish. There is a slight change I might go till 3pm or maybe end as early as 1:30 pm. Someone I went to high-school with is playing in the US Open today and when I end the stream will probably be determined by the timing of his match which will be determined by the two matches in front of him so I might not get in as much as I would like.

If you miss the Stream you'll be able to watch it on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/thehistoricalgamer within a day.

I've also uploaded the first turn of the game I'm going to be streaming, I figured rather than looking all over the map and getting a general feel of the visuals, and the warplan options over the first 20 or so minutes of the game I'd just record the first turn and make it available before the stream. If you don't watch it you're not missing a ton, I just look at the warplan options, the map, and some of the general UI and scenario selection.

I'm tempted to get this but have a question on complexity.  For some reason I could never get my head around Aegeod's Civil War titles.

For those who have both, how dies this compare to Civil War I or II?

Nice -- thanks for putting this together -- looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Well it has been released at matrix. If you want to wait for steam you'll have to wait for the 29th. But anyway it's out now if anybody's grabbing it and has some opinions

Hello!

We have tried to make it easier for newcomers to come to grasp with TEAW's system. We have a preview video up on the very basics at Steam, and there is of course a tutorial which explains what I believe the two major issues for people not used to AGEOD's games:
-stack handling with drag and drop plus the stances set on the armies
-forming corps and armies

The latter I believe is decidedly easier due to simulating more modern command structures. Basically, corps are much more autonomous than in CW2, so you build divisions and organise them into corps for better command abilities, but then you are rather free in how you deploy and move these corps around (eg. in CW2, if you wanted one corps to help the other in battle, you needed them to belong to the same army. this is no longer needed in TEAW). You will want to stack them with army HQs for maximum efficiency, but generally speaking it is easier for a newcomer to build and maintain an organised army.

You can purchase from AGEOD/Matrix and then request a Steam key for the game:

I'm wondering how this compares to Commander: The Great War.  Apples / Oranges or more like tomato-tomahtoe potato-potahtoe?

Commander is the more lightweight of the two, although it does a nice job in staying true to WW1 with its results (I keep returning to it). TEAW is the heavier and more detailed simulation of the conflict, also offers things like a more open-ended (but plausible) diplomacy and alternative war plans.

You should have both ;)

Is this supposed to be live right now? Or different time zone?

It's CST, so it's scheduled for 20 minutes from now but I might start a few minutes early.

To me, every non-ancients AGEOD game is a day one purchase. I just bought my copy from the Matrix Games website. I've been looking forward to this game ever since Revolution Under Siege was released. For some reason, I think the AGE engine fits combat in Eastern Europe and Russia really well.
