this has been going on for a while with Spencer Ackerman running the Danger Room blog down the tubes.  In this case, he happens to have found something worth discussing.  But his spam-bombing of DR with counterfactual crap in too many instances led many people to immediately dismiss this as Attackerman-style hyperbole, until it became clear it wasn't.

Unfortunately, now that he feels he has one scalp, he's only going to be emboldened going after other less worthy targets.
