Is anyone in elected office looking out for us? Anyone??? Or does "law and order", the fight against "terrorism", no-warrant no-knock police raids and seizure laws which directly benefit the seizing agency define the new America? Innocent until proven guilty sounds like something quaint, from a by-gone age nowadays. We've given a blank check to thugs.

I think it's particularly ironic that the more Republicrats and Demicans vilify each other and denigrate each others' voter base the more we slide into this Federal Corporate State so obviously unoverseen by any equitable rule of law. The very politicians who in decades past would have reached across the aisle to work with their opposite-party colleagues to limit this kind of thing are rendered ineffective because they are now forced to spend all their time defending their seats by trying to out-extreme those in their own parties trying to demagogue their own way into more power. The cross-aisle bridges that have been burned will most likely not be rebuilt in our lifetime, leaving Congress largly powerless and rudderless and unable to act as our voice in protecting us from the growing Information-Industrial Police Complex.

No surprise.

It's highly likely that the private parcel delivery services are getting scanned as well. Several boxes I've received have had minor holes poked in them - just enough for a snake camera to have looked in and confirmed something sinister like a game is inside.

Of course, it could just be sloppy package handling, but given the current state of hysteria in our domestic surveillance departments, it's not impossible that they just couldn't resist the temptation to peek.
