I drove from Alabama to North Carolina and back the week after Christmas.

Lowest  = $1.89 in South Carolina for cash.

Both Alabama and South Carolina have gas for less than $2 a gallon that is not hard to find.  Georgia and NC have higher gas taxes and thus higher pump prices.

Gas prices have been sitting at $1.99 the last few days now.  Never thought I'd see it go that low again (not that I'm complaining, of course).

Me, either...never thinking it would EVER go below two bucks a gallon, but here we are.

Makes the inevitable climb back up that much harsher. And that WILL happen.

...so the under $2 gas prices here in Virginia didn't last long...a 5-cent gas tax hike went into effect on1/1/2015 which bumped the price (hopefully temporarily) back up a bit over $2...frackin politicians  :knuppel2:

When we were in the Caribbean last summer on a cruise, we'd go by gas stations and see gas prices super cheap, like 1.99 or 2 or so US per gallon. We asked about it and found out that was the price per liter, not per gallon.  :D
