PayPal is your friend.

So true.  Set it up as a slush fund under some off-shore holding corporation's virtual cash umbrella of credit.

@Meng:  You're killing me.  I had that EXACT thought a few months ago.  Awesome.

@Judge and Jason:  How's day #2?

You didn't know? My Corps has already sailed to Berlin. We got there 3 days ago and we've been in the Tiergarten on the piss ever since. -- Marshal Soult, October 1806

FSX has captured my soul. I've tried playing Command, WoW and Skyrim in the last few days but all I want to do is fly. I was planning on picking up Elite this weekend, but I think I'm just going to pass for right now and buy more FSX addons.

Only 2-3 games coming out in 2015 I'm planning on getting. Hope to knock off some of the games on my backlog/wishlist.
PanzersEast: Have to think to myself.... will I play the first one by the Winter Sale?  Probably not, then I should remove Dragonfall
PanzersEast: but that is thinking too logically.... and Steam Sales are about ignoring Logic

Flight simming is a way of life. I buy all sort of games but still spend most of my time flying. Or just creating airports in X-Plane. Should have just not bought the other games in the first place. But once in a while we need a change of pace or else there will be burn out.

There's still the Matrix sale going on until the 12th.  Perhaps you "grogs" could get a proper wargame?

I will take your New Year with no New Video Games challenge. I purchased several "Monster" war games at the end of the year. War in the West and HPS France '14 those should keep me busy. Also have a very long RPG backlog I would like to complete. I resisted the Steam winter sale this year. Every year I purchase a bunch of deeply discounted games and never play them.

I think I want to do this as well.  In reality I already have all the games that I need.

So far so good, although I can't recall if I've already bought Grim Dawn before or not. Sigh. {checking} YAY I ALREADY HAVE IT!

Crisis: averted.  O:-)

Honestly, I've been wallowing plowing along faithfully in writing up my (not yet posted) PanzOrcs Corpz Generals AAR. So no problems yet.
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

Yippee!  France '14.  A fantastic game!

Let me put it this way: joining GrogHeads for a gamer is like an alcoholic joining a drinking team.

Y'all haven't twisted my arm and forced me to click that Buy button on Steam way too many damn times over the last 1.5 years or so, but that click was influenced by discussions here.

Although my credit card/bank account is lighter because of it, I consider myself richer in several ways. One of which is I can never, ever, play the 'bored' card again. My final grab bag of Steam goodness that was gathered during the holidays (Thanksgiving-New Year's) is as follows:

Age of Empires II: HD Edition
Age of Empires III: Complete Collection
Back to the Future Episodes 1-5
Choice of Robots
Divinity: Dragon Commander
Divinity: Original Sin
Don't Starve
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Grim Dawn
Mount & Blade: Warband
Prison Architect
Project Zomboid
Rollers of the Realm
Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut
Silent Hunter III
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Space Hulk (though that was a generous gift)
The Stanley Parable
Star Wars: KOTOR
This War of Mine
To The Moon
Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Wasteland 1
Wasteland 2

...I feel like I've just binge-drunk my way through a party hosted by mirth and Starfury and woken up on the side of the interstate with someone else's pants and sore parts of my body that should never be sore.
