You can pbem ASL via VASL.  I've done it many times.  It can get a little clunky when there's a lot of First Fire, Subsequent FF and then Final Protective Fire going on but it can work.  I wouldn't mind helping a new player out if someone were interested in a SK pbem.

And not to completely derail this thread, how pbem'able is GCACW?  It's almost strictly an IGOUGO game isn't it?

Yes, you trade activations back and forth, so pretty much completely IGOUGO. Apparently the series has a long history of PBEM, even pre-dating VASSAL.

I did some initial moves last night to get the hang of things and quite enjoyed it. I mis-figured the DRMs on my first attack and had to do it over again, but that was mostly due to me waffling on a system for counting things up. All of the DRMs are right on the game charts, and it isn't that hard to conduct an attack. The result was very believable.
