The key to surviving this site is to not say something which ends up as someone's tag line - Steelgrave

"their citizens (all of them counted as such) glorified their mythology of 'rights'...and lost track of their duties. No nation, so constituted, can endure." Robert Heinlein, Starship Troopers

bayonetbrant

something not as heavy, but a nice uptempo groove, especially once the bass kicks in

and yes, I've played this one live more than a few times :)

That song reminded me of this song.

And the One Song to Rule Them All is Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones

"If its a Balrog, I don't think you get an option to not consent......." - bob

Staggerwing

Vituð ér enn - eða hvat?  -Voluspa

Nothing really rocks and nothing really rolls and nothing's ever worth the cost...

"Don't you look at me that way..." -the Abyss

'When searching for a meaningful embrace, sometimes my self respect took second place' -Iggy Pop, Cry for Love

... this will go down on your permanent record... -the Violent Femmes, 'Kiss Off'-

"I'm not just anyone, I'm not just anyone-
I got my time machine, got my 'electronic dream!"
-Sonic Reducer, -Dead Boys

MetalDog

Thank you, sir!  I aim to please :)

Side 2 of that while album is awesome. "Tears" has some of the best guitar work that John ever did. "Begging You" is a great 100mph song, too, in the right car.

More good tune-age all, gentleman.  Thank you.  :)
"Like we need an excuse to drink to anything..." - Banzai_Cat
"I like to think of it not as an excuse but more like Pavlovian Response." - Sir Slash

"At our ages, they all look like jailbait." - mirth

"If we had lines here that would have crossed all of them. For the 1,077,986th time." - Gusington

"Government is so expensive that it should at least be entertaining." - airboy

"As long as there's bacon, everything will be all right." - Toonces

Been stuck in my head for a while :)

"I will return before you can say 'antidisestablishmentarianism'."

"A man may fight for many things. His country, his principles, his friends. The glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn."

Nefaro

Heard a couple of these oldies the other day.  Now they're in there.

I've no Earthly idea why, but this one's been running through my skull off & on the last 3-4 months:

^I have to say, its about the only one of theirs that I like.
'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers'

'Clip those corners'

Recombobulate the discombobulators!

I usually have a punk song running through my mind.  Right now: "Kiss Me" by New Found Glory; "Cemetery Man" by the Stellar Corpses; and "Stand Up" by Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.  All of these songs and bands are probably not something most of you have listened to or seen live - excepting Star.

My wife and I really like punk covers of pop songs - or pop punk.

bayonetbrant

Don't assume that!

I've got a whole stack of Me First and the Gimme Gimmes in my library...

There are far worse things you can groove to at work than side 2 of Heaven & Hell from Black Sabbath...
