No kidding, one of my favorite (of many, many favorite) parts of Red Storm Rising were the rare cameos by A-10s. They didn't last long in the sky over the front, but the Soviets were so scared of them they started calling them "The Devil's Cross". (Possibly also a reference to the last time they were fighting Germans. ;) )

Primarily yes, but when I was typing that I suddenly realized they were fighting in Germany against a force basing out of Germany including Germans. The dialogue includes comparisons to "a twisted cross"; but it doesn't look like a swastika (though that was roundly denounced, and still is, as being an intentionally blasphemous replacement for the cross. Yes, I know it's a reverse mandala, but Hitler used it for other purposes.) It might look like an iron cross with some bends.

How I didn't even think about that in 30ish years is beyond me.  :uglystupid2:
