I thought my Sorcerer was invisible!  It says so.  I spent 15 points upgrading that SOB to Invisible!  HOW COME YOU CAN SEE HIM?!?!?!

And you just be quiet, Bison.  He doesn't need your help :P

I can't remember if the leader and his two monster I saw was a sorcerer or not but I saw something!

There is a buff called True Sight which allows you to see Concealed and Invisible characters, so, I am not completely surprised.  I was more shocked that W8 took active measures to oppose me.  Not that he was incapable or unable to do so, just that I hadn't considered I was that much of a threat.

Liked that, didja?  If you could have taken several years less of vacation this winter, you might have had a chance at some revenge :P

I'll be honest though.  I wasn't considering MD a threat until I saw those monsters of his.  My original plan was to continue to live in peace next to him while steadily building up my conventional forces.  Those monsters made me realize my glorious army of Tier I archers and swordsmen would get crushed.  Then I looked for ways to counter these threats and stumbled upon the aforementioned trickery.  AoWIII is a very easy game to read.  Unlike the Dominion 3 and 4 games one can quite easily figure out how to counter the various moves in AoWIII.

While I'm on the subject.  I can't tell you how many MP games of Dominions I've played where I thought my grand army of the realm was impressive.  Then some dickweed comes along with some obscure spell and a single thug and rips my entrails out so fast and so violently my empire is eliminated in a matter of a few turns.  Talk about a frustrating game.  I've never silently raged quit in my life.  I say silently because in a PBEM game you can scream but no one will hear you.  Playing Dominions with other people literally put a hole in my stomach and gave heart palpitations.   It's because if you don't know what you're doing in Dominions you have got no chance.  At least AoW and Fallen Enchantress are easy to figure out yet complex enough to hold one's attention.

Ok rant over.  Sorry just had to get that off my chest.   8)

An old thread, but screw it. I figure you guys in the know on this game will see this.

Just bought AoW III (finally) on Steam for 9.99. Trying to play it and I'm getting some 'Sign up for a Triumph Account' bullshit. Did you guys sign up for this crap?

Huw the Poo

Yeah, you have to if you want to play multiplayer.  It's so that people with Steam and non-Steam versions can play together.

Hopefully this will be one of the problems that GOG's Galaxy client will solve, if it works as advertised. :)

Yes, I did.

Haven't played multi-player AOW3 yet.  But I have the GOG version so it made sense to do so.  I often put it in "Guest/Offline" mode so I don't have to log in for my single-player campaigns, however, so it's not like you have to log in to use it.

If you guys ever get another MP game going, I may be up for it.

MetalDog

I created the account, too.  And I'm in for a mp play.

I wasn't really wanting yet another account somewhere, but at least it ain't Uplay and requiring some third party software to run to get IT to run.

The game ran okay for a bit. I started the Elven campaign (tutorial), got my leader killed, restarted, got her killed again, wanted to restart a third time, but the game locked up and wouldn't even respond to Ctrl+Alt+Del, so I had to hard reboot my PC to exit out. Not a glorious start; AoW III might be more than my old PC can handle. I'd be up for a MP game once I figure out what the hell I'm doing in-game and if my PC decides to play ball.

I volunteer to be Banzai_Cat's neighbor in any AOW3 games!
