A curious development...

QuoteA study from a Pentagon think tank theorizes that Russian President Vladimir Putin has Asperger's syndrome, "an autistic disorder which affects all of his decisions," according to the 2008 report obtained by USA TODAY.

Putin's "neurological development was significantly interrupted in infancy," wrote Brenda Connors, an expert in movement pattern analysis at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I. Studies of his movement, Connors wrote, reveal "that the Russian President carries a neurological abnormality."

The 2008 study was one of many by Connors and her colleagues, who are contractors for the Office of Net Assessment (ONA), an internal Pentagon think tank that helps devise long-term military strategy. The 2008 report and a 2011 study were provided to USA TODAY as part of a Freedom of Information Act request.

I haven't studied Asperger's in any form. Anyone have any thoughts on this possible diagnosis?

Take a look at this.

Asperger's syndrome ? I don't know.

How about a Napoleon complex + VAT ?

I'm not a psychologist,  but I'm leaning towards: A little man, physically and mentally, who rose to power and now want to show the Russians (and the world) what a tough guy he is.
....Syndrome

This article tonight seems to say the interpretation of this war will continue to get more ominous for NATO members.

The way I see it Putin is relying on the fact Obama is a peace, law and order(his version) guy. He knows he can fight with no risk, because as soon as he wants to turn it off, Obama will jump at the peace offer. Another leader might retaliate in anger. So from the Russian position, they can manouver with full control. Economic pain for their citizens does not register.

While Obama may make the rest of the world feel secure he is completely losing against the guy that will not play by the rules. That will continue as long as military action is off the table.

Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I am all for it. They have the right to defend their country. If Russia gets pissed they are losing units, the solution is simple. Remove them from the Ukraine.

Since the USAF doesn't want them, maybe we can give them some A-10.

Maybe through in few MLRS's.

How could I forget, the Russians favorite, some Stinger missiles.  Their helos really love those.

I was gonna say, someone ought to just remind them what assholes we can be when we start arming their guerrilla opponents.

And hope they don't point out the "what are you going to do when they turn on you?" future

Long overdue.  The think that so far the Russians are not deploying the airforce as that would a dead give away at direct Russian involvement, as if the deployment of the hardware only Russian army has isn't already.
