It's Been 6 Months since Victory At launched and to celebrate we are having a 6 Month Anniversary Sale.

It's amazing to think that it's been 6 months since Victory At Sea launched on Steam and to celebrate we are offering 33% off for one week only.

Starting on February 6th and continuing for one week the TIGA Award winning Victory At Sea will be 33% off on Steam.
In Victory At Sea you can engage in epic RTS warfare across 3 huge campaigns as well as other battle modes. Create your own fleet of ships, pick your side and enter into World War II naval combat on a global scale.

At the UK Games Industry's TIGA Awards 2014 in London, Victory At Sea received the first award of the night  - Best Action/Adventure by a Small Studio.

The game is being continually developed and looks very different to the game launched in August. There are now close to 100 historically accurate ship classes that can be sailed into over 120 ports across the world and 3 huge Campaign Maps.
Simple to pick up and play, the game is difficult to master with hidden depths and details for those who want to delve deeper.
Players start as a Destroyer Captain and make decisions to create their own story as WWII happens around them. Players can rise through the ranks of the Royal Navy and create a fleet of Submarines, or become a US Admiral and command a fleet of Aircraft Carriers.

It has been a great 6 months for Victory At Sea, after securing seed funding to develop the game from Creative England's Games Lab funding only to watch it hit number 5 on Steam's global top sellers on launch day, and then to become an award winning game.
A Sale seemed the only way to celebrate!

RELEASE ENDS

Boggit's note - actually there are 4 not 3 campaigns - 1 US (Pacific), 2 British (Atlantic and Med) and a Kriegsmarine (Atlantic) one that came out in a recent update
The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own. Aldous Huxley

On a good day, our legislature has the prestige of a drunk urinating on a wall at 4am and getting most of it on his shoe. On a good day  ::) Steelgrave

It's kind of silly to investigate whether or not a Clinton is lying. That's sort of like investigating why the sky is blue. Banzai_Cat

You can also play as Japan in the pacific, and use german ships in your fleet.

I think there is a historical ships only button you can use when you start a campaign - otherwise you get all sorts of weird allied combos when you are supposed to be playing a national campaign. IIRC I think it was to give gamers some flexibility of choice, but putting the national ships only toggle was a nod to the "purists" ;)

Can you save mid-battle yet?
I don't know. I've busy with CM Black Sea at the moment, but remind me end of the week to fire it up and I'll check. I don't remember doing it at my last session, and my gut instinct is that you can't at the moment.

Just bought this. it's fun and I don't normally like RTS games.

No you can't save mid battle.

Yes there is a selection to only have "historical" side ships in your fleet. So you can play the Germans in the Atlantic and only get German ships, including the Graf Zepplin, or French ( ??? ) ships in your fleet. The French play as an ally of the Germans.....  O0

Other than that I've been having great fun building a fleet of 5 U-boats so far and sinking Allied convoys. It's tricky to get used to the commands at first and firing torpedoes does require you to learn how fast they travel so you can lead your target. Same for firing deck guns.

There's sort of an overall strategy layer where you sail around looking for trouble or go on missions given at ports. You can speed up time or slow it to a crawl at this level.
Once you bump into the enemy you get to choose which ships from your fleet you want to have enter the battle and then you are taken to the battle map.
You get to setup your ships and then fight a RT battle. But you can speed up or slow down time here too. On 1% speed it's very slow and easy to follow the action. You can even pause and give orders while paused.

It's light enough to be easy to pick up and play with just enough combat skill required to keep you on your toes... at least when you start fighting stronger enemy fleets. Destroyers are deadly against sub, as they should be, larger surface ships are better against smaller surface ships but have no ASW capability. etc.

Not far enough in to know how you "win" the campaign. There are day and night passages of time but no calendar or time of day clock. All campaigns start in Dec. 1941 that's all I can tell so far.
There's 3 campaign, Atlantic, Pacific and Med, some historical battles and a quick fight.

I'm happy with the purchase.
