Pfft, the UN...don't get me started :/

слава Україна!

We can't live under the threat of a c*nt because he's threatening nuclear Armageddon.

Mr. Bigglesworth

"Moscow warned on Monday that Putin will not be spoken to in the language of ultimatums. Asked about media speculation Merkel had issued him an ultimatum at talks on arranging a summit on Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Govorit Moskva radio: "Nobody has ever talked to the president in the tone of an ultimatum - and could not do so even if they wanted to."

What a joke, he expects the world to treat him like a parent. I laugh at the fools that try to negotiate with such a person.

^That's what I've been trying to say! Do we really want to be involved in this mess?

when ya get down to it do we really have a  choice?
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I would only consider it in a case where a nation is about to be (re)occupied against their will.  Even then, it's almost too tricky to contemplate.

It's a big shit sandwich. The biggest in 50 years. If we don't have a choice then we limit our involvement to Kosovo style involvement...bombing the shit out of 'Russian back rebels' when it appears a genocide is taking place. That makes me wonder...the Serbs have been quiet lately. Do they have an official position on all this?

There's a choice in EVERY situation in life.  We may not like it, but it's there.

Yeah. Unfortunately sometimes it's Bad or Worse.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Today i read in the news the Ukraine has started a new offensive rigth before the next peacetalks. Sorry , now i will Change
finally my mind, the Ukrainans are not interested on a peacefull solution. The goal is to heat up the conflict to make the west to deliver weaopons, now ist proved. Its time now for Sanktions also against the ukraine, both belingerents are bad guys.

I think that this is the bottom line, that there appears to be no clear "good guy" in all of this.  The Ukrainian nationalists could very well be fascists and gangsters, and the Russians are clearly imperialists and gangsters.

^It's that kind of style that's sweeping the East...again:

Perhaps we are in for a few years of national re-alignment (a la Yugoslavia). If this is the case, then "we" really should butt-out.

After the year of fighting the map is no longer valid. Russian have no future in Ukraine, thanks to Putin. Same as what happened to Germans outside of Germany after the war. And more recently Serbs in Croatia.

Ah yes, ethnic cleansing. Always a good solution  :o

Nobody is going to pick a land conflict in Russian territory.  They have nukes, and as long as they don't cross the NATO boundaries or current Russian boundaries, I don't think there will be any direct confrontation between NATO & Russian forces (or an escalation of conflict).

The wording of 'territory' now is tricky because of the confusion they have generated regarding Crimea & eastern Ukraine.  Looks like a long, slow and messy conflict between Ukraine and Russian back supporters in Eastern Ukraine and/or Crimea.  It remains to be seen if the West will supply arms to Ukraine, but if you look throughout history, nothing has stopped anybody from getting weapons to somebody indirectly.
