Why they shouldnt have been in the Eurozone ?

Well short story. In order to join the Euro they had to live up to certain standards for budget balance for once, which they didnt do by a long mile. In fact they had to Cook the books big time just in order to fullfill the minimum requirement.
Second the Greeks has a history of governmental overspending and when they cant borrow more or repay loans they go bankrupt or deflate their currency. All that is impossible when your part of the Euro. That didnt stop them from overspending however, since they figured the North would just pay up, which to be fair we did for many years.
Third because they where part of the Euro they were able to borrow obscene amount of Money at interest rates way below what would be natural for their type of economy, which Again lead to greece spending even more Money they couldnt afford.
Fourth, after they joined the Euro prices went up around 20-30% in a short amount of time, which wrecked their tourist industry (largest industri in greece) and ment that the average Greek had to get a substantial raise just to get by, which Again hurt all other industries.
Fifth and this is more a point of them being part of EU. Because of all the stupid grants you can get inside EU for fx growing food or other agricultural stuff which in itself is unproductive, alot of the Greek Agricultural has turned into big scams where fx they grow Tobacco even though its in such a pisspoor condition that none wants to by it on the open market. So now Greek cant even feed itself, because all the fruitfull land is being used for shit like this.

A well fuckem im tired of having to tell why greece should be sent out back and shot. Spain and Portugal isnt much better except they have atleast made a huge effort to correct Things, even though a big part of spain seems to be fed up with repaying for their overspending. So fuck them too.

Pardon my french but im really mad that we have to pay for their overspending because they act like babies.
And im really mad that our F..... prime minister has promised to  cautioned $12Bill to greece if they cant or dont pay, even though were not part of the Euro and dont have any obligation to do that, stupid b...h  >:(

I'm pissed and I don't even live there.  It just always seemed to good to be true to me.

Greece cooked their books to get into the EU club.  On the other hadn, the EU (or however did the auditing) did a piss poor job of checking the books, and completely missed the facts that everybody knew & that jejo pointed out (the previous governments had history of overspending & paying back loans).  Why the EU let them in, I will never understand and is irrelevant now I think both are to blame, as both appeared to really want to make this happen years ago, despite it not making any sense.

Greek banks continue to hemorrhage deposits to the tune of a billion plus Euros daily. 

The European Central Bank will no longer take Greek Government bonds as collateral for currency transfers to Greek Banks. 

Based on tax receipts, Greece will need a bridge loan in the next 3 weeks to stay solvent.  Greece is demanding that a new agreement be put in place that relaxes austerity before having any additional loans.  Italy, France and Spain said "the Greeks voted this, so Germany and Scandinavia should give Greece more money on better terms."  Germany, Denmark, Finland and others said: "Southern Europe/France - if you want to loan money to Greece on less stringent terms - you go girl!!  We take a pass."

Right now we are at an impasse.  Germany & Scandinavia won't loan anything to Greece on easier terms including bridge loans.  Greece continues to say they won't take any additional loans on the current terms.  Greek banks become less solvent every day.  Greek Bonds cannot be used in the European Central Bank as collateral.

But....... the new Greek Communist Government continues to demand billions and billions of Euros from Germany in "war reparations." 

According to the financial press - Greece has something between 15 to 30 days before their banks all go insolvent.  Germany, Finland, Denmark et al. are not budging.  The opinions of Italy, Spain and France are irrelevant - since they are all broke and don't have any real assets to lend.

I read about this every day in the Wall St. Journal.  This is where we are now (2/13/15).

Agreed.  It is hard to remember all of the countries that have told Greece to pay up on the agreed upon terms.
