Also seeing the mixed reviews, although there is generally some excitement about the concepts mixed in with disappointment about the execution.

So I think I'll wait and see if they work out the UI kinks.  I don't really mind waiting because I just started playing both Darkest Dungeon AND Evolved.

I think that they are trying to resolve this - v1.04 was just released (today, I think).

I started a custom game against 3 AI opponents at Normal difficulty, and it's a lot more challenging than the "campaign" - I'm having a tough time keeping up even in the first Age.

One thing odd about custom games is the fact that you can't choose your cult's perk, so if you randomly get stuck with one that's harder to use as I did ( I get Hope for successful kills), that can affect your difficulty as well.

If you're not auto-updating, make sure you patch to v. 1.08.  Apparently there are random events between Ages that can decimate a city's population, and any Temples in that city can decay and eventually collapse as a result.  That's how I lost all of my Temples in my previous game. 1.08 dials that back a bit.

I would if it can wait a while.  I'm leaving on business today and won't be home to play again until Monday.  Plus I want to at least complete a game before reviewing it.
