Turns out this silly nonsense with the Ukraine has just been an extended Russian reenactment.

(a) Gee...I hope the French choose to do a full scale reenactment of Borodino. Or the Germans choose to do one of Tannenburg. Or the Japanese choose to make one of Tsushima. Or...etc.

(b) I hate BBC and CNN (not to mention YouTube) with the fiery intensity of a thousand white-hot suns because of their stupid automatically-playing videos - and because they're all set to play some pointless commercial that wastes our time.

Maybe, but the parallel to SuicideKitty's comparisons falls apart if you do that.  And besides, the Brits were just re-enacting Alexander The Great's occupation.

nah - they figured that one out in about 7 years and had things stabilized until Congress cut off funding to the southies after they defeated the '72 invasion.

I was thinking more along the lines of allowing the bad guys a safe place to regroup, except for an occasional air strike ie North Vietnam vs Pakistan.
