Executive Assault

This one has caught my eye and looks pretty interesting...

Basically, your a CEO of a futuristic company tasked with capturing worlds for corporate resources. Your character is controlled in first person like a typical shooter.  However, once on planet in your executive HQ, you can login to a network that permits you to build your base and robotic combat units like a RTS.  In combat, you can take control of any single unit or vehicle and play the game like a FPS. There are robot infantry, tanks, aircraft, etc. and they are all modular, so you can design them to be equipped with a wide range of weaponry.  There is also a research element to the game that opens up new and more powerful vehicle, weapons and both offensive and defensive structures for your base.

The goal is to attack the enemy base or bases and eliminate the enemy CEO.

The graphics are a little rough, but the transition between FPS and RTS seems pretty seamless and looks like a lot of fun. Yes, it is early access, but reports so far seem to be pretty positive.

How does it compare to the old Battlezone series?

I'm also waiting for further impressions. (Not really into buying yet another Early Access title right now, definitely not for jumping blindly into one).
