My 2 cents:  anybody there complaining of a tough and unfair life down in that part should really go visit a shittier country overseas, and then come back with second thoughts on their perspective of life.

Why is no one addressing the real problems of welfare dependence, chronic poverty and glorification of the gangster lifestyle, as well as the issues of lack of birth control and one parent families? These are the real issues facing black people. Is it somehow racist to note these things?

Also worth noting is that a sizable chunk of money is funneled to minority communities. Democrats lay claim to the title of protector the poor, and are rewarded by loyalty at the ballot box.

We've discussed this before, but I'll restate it for convenience. Once you start subsidizing families with money, health care benefits, et al, you are going to make it very difficult for them to get off of those subsidies. That's because it will likely take far more than starting wages to offset the value of the benefits. I don't mean that as a pejorative - there can be good reasons for wanting to help poor people. But once you start you also initiate a cycle of dependence that is difficult to break.

Getting back to the politics, Democrats have a vested interest in preserving and protecting their reputation amongst the lower classes. It does not pay politically to monkey with that situation, which further complicates getting out of that cycle of dependence.

That doesn't mean that anyone who supports those policies has bad motive. They may be very well intended. But once started it's nearly impossible to stop.

Had enough of that jackhole during the Fast & Furious runaround bullshit he was pulling years ago.  He's about three scandals past due for being tossed out on his ass.

Any other President would have forced his resignation a long time ago, but he's been too useful a hatchet man for Obama. After all, little things like respecting the law (or law enforcement)  has no place in this administration.

What makes the dependency issues even harder to break, is that you now have multiple generations that have depended on them.
