The US should not just give them any weapons to Ukraine. Since Russia violated the Budapest agreement which resulted in Ukraine giving up nukes, US should give Ukraine the nukes they gave up. That would put the fear into Putin.

Ukraine is already tons in debt, and unstable.  I don't think nukes will make anything better.

No, Poland should send the young Ukranian men back.  Don't know how much fear that will put into Putin though? 

Lately it's been their feet unfortunately. Five ministers of defense, many retired generals, 6,000 regular troops at the start of the conflict, the rest conscripts and dedicated volunteers including former Afghan veterans. Go figure. A truce and giving up on retaking their territory is about the only way out. Many young are dodging draft registration and getting temp jobs in Poland to stay low.

Ukraine has managed to field about 65,000 military personnel in Eastern Ukraine, about half regular Army and the rest, volunteers, this out of a country of about 44 million people, a pretty pathetic number. During the US civil war, the South had a white population of about 9,000,000, yet managed to field over 1.2 million men, see the difference, especially considering the lack of any industrial infrastructure in the Confederacy. In the Russo-Finnish war, Finland with a population of 2,000,000 deployed 200,000 men or 10% of the population. The USA during WWII deployed about 8.8 million out of 150 million population or about 7% of the population.

Ukraine's total military size as of today, is less than one half of one percent of the total population, yet their country is being invaded. It's easy to make AK rifles, you can build the receiver out of sheet metal in a garage, Pakistanis manage to build complete AK's with hand tools in a hut. Even Molotov cocktails are effective, but you need people, and just 65,000 out of a country of 44,000,000 doesn't suggest much enthusiasm for defending Ukraine.

The truth seems that a great majority of Ukrainians don't feel that Ukraine is worth fighting for (based on deeds and not words).

The Russians should be worried about enraging us. To win in this game you have to out crazy the crazy. Appeasement will only get you exactly what you are trying to avoid.
There is still time to avoid more serious confrontation, but it required serious Russian bleeding.
The Russian nuclear threats against Denmark are showing what direction things will go if unchecked.
