I must be the only one, because isometric view kind of annoys me. I don't like not seeing what's out there past the edges of the screen and find myself wanting to get into the head of the character so I can see past that. As close as enemies get when they're right at the edge of the screen, it doesn't make sense that I cannot see them before that.

I love this type of game but I do understand what you're getting at. Depends on the game. Some limit your view to a considerable degree while others offer a much larger view of your surroundings. Surprisingly, the original Baldur's Gate, done with the more recent Enhanced version, added a zoom-out feature that worked quite well to expand your view. I just hope my 6+ year old rig can run the game. It struggles with Divinity: Original Sin.

Pre-Ordered! That is the first time I have pre-ordered a game since The Old Republic.

I used my 20% off coupon from Paradox and bought it.  Hope they let me remap the keys.

I guess I should rephrase any hate for isometric views on my part: I DO like it in Dragon Age: Origins. You can zoom out to get a top down view, but when you zoom in, you're looking the same direction as your character.

I backed this, and grabbed my Steam key this evening. It's preloading now. 6GB! Whatever's in there, there's a lot of it!

I've intentionally not been keeping up with the development diaries and the like and intentionally opted out of the beta. I want this to be as much like the Baldur's Gate experience as possible - I want to discover a new world and not have any idea in advance what I might find. I'm really hoping for some old school magic on this one.

Talk is there's already a part 2 in the works. Wouldn't you know it? I got the dentist in the morning followed by a Rays vs Yankees spring training game in the afternoon. I won't get to play until tomorrow night sometime.  :'(

Yes.  But that will just be icing on the cake.  Seeing the Yankees play, is the highlight of ANY day!

As a Yankees fan of longstanding, it pains me to disagree with you, MetalDog.  The Yanks have gotten so old... they desperately need an infusion of young blood. Beyond Tanaka's starts, I find them painful to watch these days...   :(

If God has created a sport more boring to watch than baseball, I haven't heard of it.   :P

Anyway, been reading the buzz on this and I'm looking forward to seeing first impressions!

While I think the above are immensely boring to watch, some of them are actually quite fun to participate in. Just watching it on TV, though...zzzzzzzzzzz

Blasphemy!

(anyway, i'll stop hijacking this thread with observations better suited to the OOTP16 thread.... Which is an AWESOME game that even Toonces, heretic hater of baseball, should pick up...   :))

He has...spring training baseball. As if one of 162 regular season games mean little enough, we get pre season games. Yeah
