I don't know what to say. It seems to work fine on my Win 7 system.

Dumb question. I assume you have a USB keyboard. Is it hooked directly into a PC port or are you using a hub? I am reaching here......

No dumb questions, sir. It's not a USB keyboard - it's the original one that came with the desktop with a PS/2 connector. (It's almost eight years old but never had this issue before. The keys work fine in Notepad, Word, and everything else.)

Reaching again....

In the install folder you should see a file called dosboxF117A_single.conf. Open it with notepad and try commenting out the keyb us statement

rem keyb us <====like that

save the file and try again.

I don't know if you have a "us" keyboard or not.....

It does make me wonder if it's a dosbox problem rather than an F-117 issue.

Actually, rather than disabling the device, there is another workaround if you want to keep using it.
In Device Manager under Keyboards, update the "Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 Keyboard" to a "HID-compliant device"

Restart the game if you had it open, and presto, now you can type tilde's and still use your remote.

I played a lot of F-19 back in the day too and actually liked it better than F-117A back then, even though the latter had much improved graphics. Hopefully they add F-19 at some point and perhaps F-15 Strike Eagle, too.

I still have one or two of ye olde AT keyboards.  Ya know.. the ones with the huge round plug, heavier weight, and wonderfully loud key clicking?   :))  I don't use them, of course.  Should probably sort through my old parts and toss the oldest stuff.

It was a big step going from the Original F-15 Strike Eagle

By all rights I should have loved F117 more than F19. Maybe it was the crappier sound design? -- don't know, but I remember liking F19 more, and being REALLY REALLY CONFUSED as to why.

(And then booting up PC Red Baron instead.  O0 Incidentally, that was the first game I ever got for PC.)

I loved Red Baron. I always flew as a German and built up massive numbers of kills. When I got in with the 'elite' squadrons and went on a mission with Herman Goering, I'd shoot him down immediately upon mission start. For ze Fatherland! 

Red Baron, IIRC, let you shoot down three friendlies before pulling you from the cockpit, so that was always my one "accidental" slip-up. O:-)

They were indeed awesome in their time, but we have so many better flightsims to choose from now.
I could understand you wanting to play something like F22 ADF or Eurofighter 2000, or the Jane's titles... But this one? Mindboggling! :D

^ Because my computer is an old POS and can only run "classic" flight sims.

I might be able to get away with IL-2 or something like that but nothing big. If I want a TRUE flight sim, I'll wait until I have a system that has enough oompf to run it and do so beautifully. I also don't have a flight stick, either, but I played F-117A and F-19 both with keyboard only back in the day, so it's okay.
