To be fair, I can't remember a single Batmobile, in print, animation, or film (except the 66 series -- and I suppose its print analogues) where the windows gave Batman good visibility.

There's been a casting change

"45 minutes of pooping Tribbles being juggled by a drunken Horta would be better than Season 1 of TNG." - SirAndrewD

"you don't look at the mantelpiece when you're poking the fire" - Bawb

"Can't 'un' until you 'pre', son." - Gus

Now THAT movie, I would gladly pay to see.

Wow. A surprisingly good article from the Houston Press, which is pretty much a free rag loaded with advertisements for sex and stripper businesses (at least, the print version is).

You said that like it's a bad thing!  ;)

Ha...well...it was worth a good laugh back in the day.

I can't say TOO many bad things about them...they ran a piece on a play I was in a couple of years back, and it was glowing, fortunately.

Some countervailing facts vs the article:

1.) Mob banks don't only hold mob money.

2.) Actually the movie starts with organized crime struggling to survive after a year under the Bat. They aren't gone yet, but their days are numbered. They don't hire the Joker to kill Batman for giggles. That's practically the Joker's whole point to taunt them with when he first meets them: why are you all meeting here in secret in the daytime? Because Batman. The movie is structured as the point when Gotham crime starts shifting from organized families to colorful theme villains, as "escalation". (This is yet another of many reasons why DKR fails hard; and probably another reason why that movie HAD TO BE annoying.)

3.) The Joker primarily attacks law enforcement authorities who are flagrantly not corrupted in a corrupted system; and makes use of corruption in the system. (Worth noting: Commissioner Loeb was corrupt in comics canon, but seriously noble in the films.) That isn't the action of someone trying to tear down a corrupt system. It more fits his self-description of trying to generate chaos, which those people were standing in the way of.

4.) The author completely ignores the boatload of civilians the Joker tries to tease into becoming murderers at the threat of their own lives. Granted, he's trying to expose their expected pretensions to morality, but that isn't exposing their corruption per se, and a boat of random civilians + a boat of street-level thugs do not equal upper level criminals exploiting society's laws to their own advantage.

5.) The author also completely ignores the hospital full of people the Joker was planning to detonate. Granted, he holds off until they evacuate once they start, but that's evidently so he can push Harvey Dent over the edge -- no point detonating while he and Dent are still inside. We have every reason to believe the Joker would have blown the place afterward if they hadn't gotten the warning early.

Still, an effort at alternative characterization that was worth a shot. :)

(Also 6, I agree the Arkham games Joker performances are overall better, but that's only to say that Mark Hamill's Timm/Diniverse Joker is much better.)

Not to mention Hamill's Cock Knocker.

Hamill was the Joker in Arkham Asylum/City.

Where he was reprising a role he had mastered for 20+ years. (In two stories featuring a lot of Diniverse vocal talent returning in a reunion, written by Paul Dini -- essentially making it an alternate Diniverse.)

So Hamil had had a lot of practice playing the character, which Heath Ledger didn't have.
