This was on sale on Steam so I picked it up. Very cool!

There are a tonne of games in the workshop right now. I'm not sure as to their status in regards to IP laws but Steam hasn't deemed it necessary to take them down.

If anyone's up for a game, I am familiar with Twilight Struggle, Puerto Rico, X-Wing, and Betrayal at the House on the Hill . I've downloaded them from the workshop and can host.

I've had Tabletop Simulator for a bit, but haven't got around to trying it yet.

I own Betrayal At The House On The Hill, but haven't played it in quite awhile. There are others modules for stuff I own, some of which I've probably not yet played, but I haven't dug through them to see if the module works. Seems like the biggest issue may be finding modules which are complete and without bugs.

I talked about this a bit here or somewhere. If they removed that silly table flip gimmick I'd be more interested in it again. Unlike VASSAL, there seems to be a wild banshee of kids running around looking for unsecured games in play so that they can run in and "flip the table" on you. I guess it's like real life; I shouldn't have to fret about locking my doors every time I run to the market but if I don't, the whole house will get flipped over. Doesn't seem to be an issue on VASSAL however (more mature audience).

Oh - but I am interested to learn how difficult it is to make miniatures and terrain for it. I've quickly looked at some tutorial videos and I'm seeing 3D modeling tools and other lofty requirements. If it's not though, I'd love to make some games for these ACW miniatures rules that I've been messing with.

I was told that the host can disable that option nowadays.

Disabling the silly table flipping thing would be nice. I'll have to look in to this a bit more once I have the time. The video's of the miniatures looks like it could be a pretty neat tool for virtual mini's; if it doesn't take an advanced degree in 3D modeling to produce something.

Brant: I dare say that if TTS was a "grog" game platform only (or primarily), you wouldn't have the issues that it at least did when it was first released. Maybe its those Magic the Gathering punks running around cyber-bullying. ;)

I think what they really need is a "restore table" option if some asshat shows up because it looks like there are a lot of different ways in which someone so inclined could easily ruin a game. Picking up a piece and rapidly clicking the clone button until the entire board is covered. Grabbing a critical component such as a card deck and hitting 'delete', etc.

I've seen it at a number of hobby stores around the area....kids with odd haircuts and their little stacks of cards that they hover over like little mad scientists overrun with paranoia that somebody may dare eyeball their precious 'black lotus' card that sits proudly on the top of their stack. It's these same roaming band of banshee hoodlums that go around flipping the table on us real wargamers that are trying to get in a nice game of Up Front using TTS...I just know that it is. And where did these little oddballs get their craving for a the silly little card game that they play? From their goofy, oddball parents that played D&D in the late 70's and 80's, that's where. The little farts....

Hey now, real D&D players would never touch a game that included cards. A wargame with cards maybe, but never an RPG.

As for a TTS simulator allowing people to come in and "flip your table" - that's all I need to know about it to know that they don't want my money. I'll stick to VASSAL, thanks.

I've been told by more than one person that the "Flip Table" option can be disabled by the host.

Perhaps I should just put it in a sig line to avoid repeating it every few posts.

Nah, I get that it can be disabled. I question the intelligence/sanity of the developer that thought it was a good idea in the first place.
