That kind of stuff just reduces us to their level of barbarism and they win. Catching them, hopefully before this happens, and not allowing them to die is the worse kind of hell for them. Killing them just makes them martyrs and heroes for others to follow.
Normally I'm all for the death penalty for any crime the takes another's life but in this case you need to fight that urge and make their life a living hell.

im not really advocating killing them apart from when theyre actually caught in the act - this will never stop if the only circumstance is going to be everyone wearing a ribbon saying 'youll never break us' - they dont care. What have they got to lose, theres no reprisals, no action taken, nothing - make them think whilst theyre loading the gun, and strapping on the bomb vest, 'is this really what i want to do' because what they do that day is going to cost every member of their family something

CNN says that he worked at wiring and cable manufacturing firm called Superior Essex, Inc.  Apparently a normal kid and athlete, except that he was religiously Muslim.   They say that he is likely Palestinian, but is known as a Jordanian who was born in Kuwait.  CNN reports that he "went home" in 2014, visiting both Kuwait and Jordan; the implication being that he may have been radicalized there.
