Hey Grogs.

Just witnessed a murder.

Not the best night ever, but honestly, I'm glad I had a .45 to protect my family.

I'm freaked out. Right now things are in flux, happened outside my home. Cops are everywhere. Cobb County PD came hard thankfully with AR-15's. And we are in a VERY good neighborhood.

Scene is ugly. I think, honestly it was an accident. I've been told not to go to bed. I'm just sitting here kind of with my adrenaline pumping and wanting to talk to someone other than my wife, who is also scared and talking to me.

So hi guys. Stay safe.

Glad the first thing that happened with shots were fired is that I screamed for my wife to hit the lights, I pushed her off the bed, hit the ground and pulled my gun.

Not sure this'll get any traction or interest. Just sort of using this as an outlet.

3:27am and given a butt load of statements. Cops are conversing outside my door.

CSI and detectives are on the scene now. They've put up big lights.

I'm probably going to pass out soon. Might post pictures of the evening's horrors later.

Looks like an accident. The wife and I called the neighbors Jersey Shore. Muscle bound, liked to trick out cars, many many NRA stickers. Not like I don't own a gun myself.

Seems this was a case of alcohol+friday+guns+stupidity=death.

And yeah, I don't think the guy is getting up. Shots fired at 11:00pm and at 3:32am he's still lying there. I doubt he'll be ok.

I can only see his legs. I guess it was a he.

take advantage of any services offered and speak to a professional asap. it may seem silly but events like that have a way of creeping into a persons head space.

and look on the bright side. you got to push the wife out of bed.

I'm glad that you and the family are ok. I'd consider what Star suggested. I dealt with a lot of DB's while in my 20s and just shrugged it off like the rest of the folks I worked with. It was only many years later that I realized how unnatural such things are and may still affect the way I cope with negative events and pressures.

Quick thinking on your part, Andrew. Definitely talk to someone. Other than us, I mean. We are pretty stellar. An all around fine collection for what ails. Just not sure we got what it takes to banish the uglies.

Man. Glad you and yours are ok. The advice on talking to someone is good advice. I've tried to gut stuff out on my own in the past and it comes back to haunt you.

Sadly, I think the combination of "weapons, alcohol, and stupid" has driven a great deal of human evolution the past few thousand years. Clearly, we aren't done though.

Yeah, if it bothers me I'll talk to someone. I just needed an outlet last night other than my wife, since she was going through it at the same time.

Not much word on what actually happened. Local PD lists it as an "incident" but are withholding details. Leads me to tend towards it possibly being a public confrontation/suicide.

A lot of drama goes down over there, it honestly could be anything.

As for me, I'm going to take it easy today and stick to my plans of getting football season going by watching my Alma Mater take on Louisville this afternoon.

Info about what happened finally got released.

Looks like our neighbor, the gun enthusiast, shot and killed a 29 year old guest. Didn't say if it was accidental.

Guess that puts an end to it. That's the first homicide in Kennesaw Georgia in a very very long time, and our neighbor was a huge gun guy, he's armed in pretty much every picture he has on facebook and he apparently had a veritable arsenal over there, so there's going to be a local kerfuffle given our gun laws here.
