Birthday surprise from my beloved:

Hauled that sucker all the way from Ikea and put it together her ownself.

Would that I could say that's the entire collection, but it is the lion's share of it and comprises most of the historical games...

Very nicely organized and some great games you have.  I'd be over in a heartbeat so that you could teach me "Day of Heroes"....

Happy birthday, Cyrano!  Awesome wife you have!  What's all that LotR stuff in the top middle?  And how come you don't live closer so I can come ogle your games?

@GJK:  The only reason I haven't thrown Day of Heroes aside is because Barth promised to teach it to me back in JUNE...speaking of whom:

@Barth: Where will we have seven of us in a room at one time...hrmmmm...

@MD:  It's Knizia's co-op LotR with all the expansions.  I've played very few games more and recorded each result...

SFB is part of that whole OTHER collection I mentioned not appearing in the above...although it's not vast.  Main set and a bunch of modules.

ASL is represented only by the SK which one can see at the lower left...just barely...

I...erm...sold much of it when I got obsessed with Combat Commander (one more than paid for the other) and CMx2...*runs and hides*

I own it and haven't looked at it since I bought it way back when. Glad to know.

It's the "putting it together her ownself" bit that is the great part of the present!

That is definitely impressive.  Women always hate doing that.  It's also a rare one who has the patience to read the instructions and diagrams enough to get it right.

She's an animal with an Allen key in her hand...

It's a very sturdy piece of kit so the only problem was that when she had finished it she couldn't hoist it into place.  It's actually got a strap at the top center that you use to pull it up for placing against the wall.  This really is a brilliant system for storing games as it accommodates just about every size game I threw at it.

Errmm... that strap is not for lifting it into place it's for securing it to the wall.... which I very much suggest you do! If sitting on carpet they can have the tendency to tip over.
You don't want to be on the bottom of that stack if that happens. Take a large screw and find a stud in the wall to attach the strap to.
