Wurm Unlimited coming to Steam.........

How is Building in this game?
Am I forced to manually create everything brick by brick, or can I just create a pre-designed building from a recipe/blueprint?

I think its more of the former than the latter, not totally sure myself as I have fired up the game yet. Lotsa nice videos on YT tho, here is one..

Unless things have changed in the year or so since I played, it's the former.

This game shines when you play with a group of people, all working together to build a town. Many hands make light work, and all that.

Well the Linux version finally launched and now I'm getting a strong urge to buy. AchillesLastStand, what do you think, a month later? Did you get in on any decent servers or are you playing solo?

It looks like the server is pretty bloody configurable, and also you can run what's called an adventure map, which is a pre-fab containing structures and incorporating a tutorial. You know, if enough of us want to play, we could even get a hosted server going.

The server I joined was on quite a huge map and on a good day had 20 people on it at max which isn't much. There are however servers that are much more populated. Be prepared for a grind in leveling up the multitude of skills offered but as someone said earlier play with a group and concentrate on 3 or so skills and go from there. The combat is clunky though be forewarned.

Thanks. I've played Wurm Online before, just wondered about your specific experience with Wurm Unlimited.

Actually I'm going to head into Wurm Online now just to see what it's like these days. :)
