Total War collection routinely goes on sale on Steam for pennies.  I recommend holding out till Thanksgiving or Xmas and then bagging the whole smack for a few clams.  That's what I did....like 3 years ago.   ::)

I tried to install M2TW on my new rig with Windows 8.1 and could not (from disc).

Disk DRM coming back to haunt.

So Cheap, just buy another copy on Steam, that's what I did long ago.

I am all-in with BMS Falcon 4.33.  That is all.   8)

Well this is more of a Sunday post than Friday one, but:

Won the Battle of Adwalton Moor in Pike and Shot, RoFfed a bit, went back to my gaming roots with some Darkest Hour, and tried out an Arma 3 mod which generates random missions for co-op play.  Oh, and dabbled in a little Insurgency with our very own Huw the Poo.

Crossroads it's weird what you mention above on installing older TW games on newer systems. I tried to install M2TW on my new rig with Windows 8.1 and could not (from disc). One of my all time favorites and now it looks like I can't play with the original disks :/

Yep, unfortunately as mentioned the DRM sysem is now broken. MS security update (3086255 is what I've seen quoted) broke it, so if you - while understanding the consequences of it - uninstall it the discs should play.

Unfortunately for W10 there's no such cure, which really sucks.

Buying a Steam version may or may not be an option, depending if you're playing a Mod or not. Some Mods work with Steam version of the game, while some such as Roma Surrectum II does not.

Major bummer for us RS II fans.

^See this just sucks. On principle I don't want to buy it again but it is one of my favorites *grumbles in old guy voice*

I will wait for a sale, at least.

Here's another Skyrim mod I'm gonna install. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes before it annoys me, but for now, it amuses me greatly. And I don't do a lot of sneak attacks, so...

Behold I have found the Forgotten City in Skyrim. The game seems a little unstable...had multiple crashes where it used to run rock solid...maybe I have conflicting mods? Anyway, this feels like it will be a great Skyrim adventure.

I've seen that mentioned on the forums about the crashes with this mod. The reason I've held off so far. But it sure looks better than gooder.

I ended up re-purchasing M2TW again on a Gamersgate sale years ago.  And that damn thing ended up having online activation DRM.  :knuppel2:

Ah there's mention of crashes with the Forgotten City mod Slash? I did not know this. I updated my video drivers anyway and disabled the 1-2 other mods I had running anyway.

Tested out Attila TW on my new rig last night...looks quite giggity. Starting a Pict campaign probably Friday :)

There were a few mentions of crashes when the mod first came out on the workshop. But there's usually somebody somewhere claiming crashes for almost every mod for every game it seems. I'm going to give it a try soon but got to dig myself out of the cave where I left off last time I played. A good Murder Mystery would be a welcome change of pace for Skyrim.
