You probably need FB to see it and for that I apologize, but I don't know if this fellow posted this anywhere else.

There is a beautiful madness here that I can only step back and admire at a distance.

I shudder to think what I would pay for a well-designed MMP-ish (actually OSG-ish) game like this!!

I'll quote that dudes work below so those of us without Facebook can see it. Very impressive work.

Quote from: Keith from FacebookIn the "Is this going to take another 5 years??" department, I started yet another project. (Completion percentage is classified). I am a huge fan of Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts series of Warhammer 40k novels (I have no minis, I like maps).

This is just a hobby project since I scanned the map from the novel Necropolis, made it in to a hexmap (Warhammer 40k minis guys are shivering at the blasphemy!...) ;-) and started doing counters. The map and soem artwork on the counters is simply not mine to distribute, even if I had a game company. Its just for fun, an exploration iof you will allow. I just wanted to see how it lays out on a game map. :-)

I have accounted for 500,000 Planetary Defense troops described int eh novel, as well as four Regiments (really Divisions in most cases) of Imperial Guard Troops: Gaunt's Ghosts; the 50th Royal Volpone (Bluebloods); 3 Regiments of Narmenian Armor; and a Regiment of the Roane Deepers.

They are up against millions of enemy troops, but I have only about 900,000 or so of them, including armor and artillery and, well, special vehicles for conquering walls detailed in the novel.

Enjoy the pix! That may be all there is of this! :-) ยท Updated on Sunday

Holy Copyright Infringement Lawsuits, Batman! That's cool.

I wonder if he can sell it to GW?

Probably not. Too good of a game system, I suspect.

I was always drawn to Epic far more than the absurdities of 40K -- although I still have my beak-y Blood Angels and the horrible paint job I gave them so many years ago -- and something like this would be the next level.

As they become more and more an IP management house and less a game studio, I wonder if they'd be willing to license something like this out...a fellow can dream...

You don't say....

Do you have any Epic armies? Twenty years later and I still have my rather large Eldar and Ork armies. They're what I learned to paint on! ... after an abortive attempt at starting with WFB.

Yepyep...somewhere in the closet I should be able to lay hands on hundreds and hundreds of points of Blood Angels...rectangular rather than square-based infantry, although I kept the buildings from the first set...

Yeah, my bases are all square. I threw out all those buildings at some point, though I still have some hills and forest terrain pieces I made.

BTW, I haven't gotten any Emails in some time regarding new updates for Twilight Struggle. I suggest that we try another game after the next patch. If this much time is now going by between updates, we may actually have time to finish a game.  :)

Well, they updated last night I think (?) but it does indeed seems to have slowed.

I'll send you an invite tonight!

It did...

Caught a win as I held the titular House by the River.

Stuck for you?

I confess I had been meaning to ask if you'd like another go, but was remiss.
