Silent Disapproval Robot

I thought real wargamers didn't play games with cards.

Heretics

I'm already going to hell, so does it matter what my views are? If there is a God, why would He care what one out of eight billion thinks? Please.

criminals

corner clippers

Hey, if the damn tab doesn't come off cleanly and there's a big fuzzy cardboard too-mah growing off of the corner of it, I'm going to cut that sumbitch off.

I despair for the fate of our hobby!

Such melodramatics, sir!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow cast by all the board games I'm hoarding, I will fear no counter-clipping; for thy womanly dramatics are with us all, though I don't know nothing 'bout your rod and staff comforting anyone around here, nor do I wish to know, verily! :)

Nefaro

I need to commit multiple heinous crimes by clipping counter corner tumors on at least six new games.   :buck2:

I'll repent my vicious cardboard murders with carpal tunnel pain after each.

Oh well, it's not like I really need to be flinging more money at another miniatures game.

Heretic!

I repent!  WW2 era Wings of Glory on the way.

(and I'm out $238 CDN, you god forsaken enablers!!)

Did ya get any of the bombers? I bought the B-17 and a Lancaster at Origins last year.... and I don't even ply the WWII version. I have about a dozen of the WWI planes and our group has all three maps.

Yup.  I bought two versions of the Lancaster, a B-17, and a B-25.

Hoping they expand the line.  I'd love to see some P-38s and P-40s along with some early/mid war Japanese planes like the Ki-43 and the Betty so I can do some Solomon Islands stuff.

I thought one of the starters came with a P-40?

Silent Disapproval Robot

I couldn't find a copy of the WW2 starter kit that comes with the 4 minis for sale.  I had to make due with the accessories and rules box that just comes with the rules, cards, and counters but no minis.

You didn't know? My Corps has already sailed to Berlin. We got there 3 days ago and we've been in the Tiergarten on the piss ever since. -- Marshal Soult, October 1806

You get a big ol' deck of cards too.  Gotta play guess the manoeuvre and pick the right card when trying to stay on so eone's 6, iirc.

Ah, but 'tis so with the Ares games, no?  That's why I assumed you was runnin' it down for lacking toy planes...a passionate love of all Grogs.

Me?  God no.  I'm easily distracted by shiny things these days.  My name is SDR, and I'm a recovering grog.  I used to scoff at any man who'd  dare to play ASL without all the available rules in place.  If you didn't need a plastic tray to sort all the counters in a game, then it wasn't really a game.

I'm much better now.  I think, with a little adult supervision, that I'm ready to go back out into society.  I'll play games with plastic figures, collectible cards, proprietary dice, and occasionally....reluctantly.... even games with meeples. *shudder*  (However, if anyone pulls out an abstract Euro or a "party" game, I still want to take a card-stock CRT table and give them a paper cut on the webbing between their fingers.)

Says the guy that just dropped "$238 CDN" on more shiny toys. Not sure if that's Monopoly money or a real thing.

And here's a board game we can all get behind. Don't ask why I thought of it...probably because I'm a sick bastard.

Exchange rate changed overnight.  It's now $242....
