Being the armchair chicken-shit that I am, I could say something snarky along the lines of "more respect if he wasn't hiding behind 6 inches of bullet-proof shielding."  :P   O:-)

The only two ways to enter and clear a room in this sort of tactical situation without prohibitive casualties is shields or grenades. I guess I'm glad they didn't use grenades.

Or the Russian method: just gas everyone.

Details are preliminary and scarce, but it sounds as if authorities were tipped off that a truck disguised as an emergency vehicle was loaded with explosives and parked at or near the stadium. German Chancellor Angela Merkel (who welcomed a huge wave of Syrian refugees into her country) was supposedly scheduled to attend the soccer match.

UPDATE II: Another German soccer venue is reportedly being evacuated, as conflicting accounts cloud details of the alleged first incident.  There's been word of two "suspicious devices" and a tip to police, but no confirmation of the 'truck filled with bombs' rumor. This may have been a false alarm. Needless to say, Europe is on edge.

As long as you bring an anesthetist to figure out the correct dosage of tacticalized (did I just invent a word?) Fentanyl to knock out an entire theater full of terrorists before they realize what the "Pssssssssssss" and the sudden wooziness mean.

Honestly, I didn't realize they could get that many Backfires into the air these days. I thought it was also interesting that the Backfires were dropping iron bombs, while they apparently used the Bears and Blackjacks for the cruise missiles.
