I'm still surprised at how much this has saddened me. Even in the years when I was less attentive to his work than I should have been, I still thought of him as a constant, bridging the span with collaborations ranging from Iggy Pop and Lou Reed to the Sales Brothers and Trent Reznor.

The man was an absolute chameleon who worked with seemingly everyone. Sure, not all of it was good, but most of it was at least interesting.

Hell, he did Christmas duets with Bing Crosby and was still considered cool afterwards. That's pretty goddamn impressive!

Mrs B and I watched the clip of him and Bing singing 'Little Drummer Boy'. Its magical. Not a dry eye in the house.
