I've read that some of the purchaseable class abilities are far less useful than others, but that was also the case in Titan Quest iirc and nothing particularly new for these types of ARPGs.

I've put in at least several hours on every class, and also on most of the 2-class combos.  Yes, it appears to me that some skills are better than other skills - however, every class has winner skills.

That's all that matters!

Plus they spent the last month or two balancing the player skills & such.  O0

I picked this up the other day, and I must say, I am enjoying this very much.

I played the original Diablo, Diablo 2 for hundreds of hours, and now Diablo III for hundreds of hours.

Add to this Sacred, and Sacred 2, and the Titan Quest series, and the entire Borderlands series. I know action RPG's, and this is as good as any of them. This is very high praise indeed, from yours truly.

Very good game, executed flawlessly.

It's basically their Titan Quest with a lot of new stuff and updated goodies.

Been playing it some lately.

I do have one complaint about it - the lousy framerate performance.  Doesn't matter if I'm running it on my slower notebook, my fast desktop, or what video settings I use;  the framerate constantly dips down to below 40 fps on those various Nvidia cards I use.  Which is the point where it starts going from smooth to eye strain.

Needs more vid optimization.  Not seeing any change in the low framerate, no matter the settings, is a pretty obvious indicator.  Many other bitching about it too.  :-\

I currently put it in a borderless window, at the lowest widescreen resolution available, so it takes longer to give me a headache.  30 minutes sessions.

Nefaro, you already tried the steps at https://www.reddit.com/r/Grimdawn/comments/41h6sm/i_truly_want_a_fix_for_my_fps_drop_need_help_guys/?

I'll give a couple of those a shot.

Changing the maxthreading number.. well if it's supported I don't know why it's always set to only use one CPU core.  Will give it a shot but I wonder if this is even working for the game.

Sounds as if the Steam Cloud Save option is causing stutter issues too.  I use cloud saves on some of these games, including this one.  So I'll give this a try if #1 doesn't do much.  Sucks having to jockey it on & off when needed though.

Nefaro

Nope, neither of them really helped much if at all.  :-\

Tried on my notebook with all the gfx set to Low.  Watched my three extra CPU core usage while playing, with the multi-threading settings file adjustment.  Didn't notice much difference, maybe none?

Turning Steam Cloud off didn't do it either.

FarAway Sooner

Sucks.  There are a number of threads out there on this one, so you've got to assume that it's just a hitch with the initial roll out and they'll get it ironed out sooner or later.

But it's clearly blunting the enthusiasm of a significant fraction of the beta community.

At the risk of sounding patronizing, you do have the latest video drivers?    :knuppel2:

Nefaro

Yeah.

It's still playable for me.  There's only very slight jittering from the fps going back & forth all the time.  But it's enough to cause eye strain and a bit of a headache after awhile.   So I only run it for about 20 minutes and then switch to something else.

Hope they can finger it out.
