Wheel of Time pilot

Well, to give them credit, there is a flipping ton of books to go by for material.

I gave up by book 4 or 5 - and even then, I only was reading chapters associated with specific characters.

I'll be optimistic later maybe. Lots of things with potential end up being terrible or mediocre at best on TV (or films for that matter).

I never thought Game Of Thrones could be done well as movies/series, after reading the books long ago.  Due to the huge range of characters, locales, and effects required.  Figured the cost would be astronomical.  But someone went all in and proved me wrong.

Nevertheless, I still wouldn't expect a Wheel Of Time tv series to be amazing.  The novels just aren't as good, and have some negative aspects.  I figure that if I stopped reading the series after three books, then that may not bode well for a long-term theatrical series.

But who knows?  Maybe it'll actually be an improvement over the books, if they can cut out some of the BS while doing a theatrical script.  Could be better than the novels.  ;D

I used to have dreams of someone trying to film the early books in a cheapass 1970s grindhouse wilderness survival-horror style, shot blue for night etc.     


That being said, even as a fan of the books (generally -- I have yet to meet a single person who was a fan of Winter's Heart much less Crossroads of Twilight), I acknowledge that theoretically the TV series could be better than the books.

That was mostly a poke at you unrepentant fan boys of that epic fail of forest destroying shite. ;)  And I didn't forget the first 'pilot.'  It actually proved my point.  Tv DID make it better.  I didn't have to read the book

And whoever thought that making a crappy series of books into a crappy tv series was good business sense seriously needs their head lookin at !!!  I am genuinely sorry for the fans of the books though , they've raised your hopes ....and then crushed them into the dirt with their big grimy snakeskin fat cat executive business boots !!!  >:(
