I'm kinda meh about this too. I wouldn't mind seeing something set in the reboot universe like they did with Razor and Blood & Chrome, but I don't see much need for another reboot or to revisit the old version.

The BSG Universe kinda feels worn out at this point, but I'd say the same about Trek and Star Wars too and they're going to keep churning those out.

I think a reboot with the original story line of aliens looking to exterminate humans could be good.  There were a lot of fans of the original that didn't like the direction they took the SyFy series.  Frankly, I think there's room for both.

Except that episode explaining where Starbuck had been while he was missing in action. I think everyone agrees that was... well, up to par for the original series anyway.  :buck2:

I'm only politely interested in the reboot (or whatever) at this point. I got pretty much everything I wanted, and more, out of the modern series and its movies, and I can always watch that again to some extent whenever I want. (Um, note to Deadline.com, it wasn't a "miniseries". It ran for 4 seasons.)

My interest somewhat plummets in proportion to the likelihood that the currently assigned director, who likes to cast and work with Jennifer Lawrence, will cast Jennifer Lawrence in some key role. She may be a nice person personally, but her dramatic capabilities need work: she did not play well as Mystique in the X-Men reboot trilogy. (Except maybe in the first movie when Mystique's character could plausibly be construed as quite different and unformed.)

The episode was actually called "The Return of Starbuck". It was the last,  desperate attempt to save the show in some form. Even Dirk Benedict couldn't save it at that point.
