You need to keep 2ndACR company.

I'm beginning to think someone needs to go on deathwatch, as much as he's been lamenting having to solo matches lately.   :crazy2:

My digital gaming has been approximately nil in the past couple weeks.  Another long burnout break.

I have taken up an old campaign in Hearts of Iron II as Italy.  I think I have backed myself into a corner, I have Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in a bid to outflank the Brits, but, now that I have them where I want them, I realize that I don't think I have enough materiel to complete my outflanking maneuver.  I may just declare war to see what happens anyways.
Are you using any of the HOI2 mods, or just vanilla?
The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own. Aldous Huxley

I'll return eventually.

Didn't want to grind it into the ground.  I'm not used to playing one thing for months straight.  When I've done so in the past, the burnout eventually gets so bad that I never return.  Didn't want that to happen with WoWS, so I'll wait until they've expanded it a bit & come back with a fresh interest.   O0

I anticipate lots of struggling in the twilight with Barth!

...

........

...wait. Let me rephrase. Lots of Twilight Struggle with Barth.

I can pretty safely guarantee the game will declare one of us the winner sometime in the next fortnight. Maybe even sometime in the next week. (Whether we'll be able to continue after that, I don't know.)

I've experimentally figured out the most efficient way to proceed as Qinghai (nation 131 out of 131) in Victoria 2, so I may do a few more years with them. Since they started with literally only 3 points of civ research (out of the 10 thousand plus necessary for even one of the preliminary researches to westernize), it's mainly sitting around watching super-obscure tiny nations developing science things and going to war with each other and major powers. The Ottoman Empire did demand that Holland release Belgium as a nation, though -- that was insane, and triggered a brief war among some of the Greats before it got resolved.

Moved my Sleeping Dogs campaign forward a few notches yesterday; might do so again this weekend.

I played quite a bit of Goliath last weekend, but I'm not sure I'll continue with it. You'd think a survival(-lite) pre-steampunk mecha design game would be awesome, and I think a lot of people do like it, but... I dunno. Just seems like too many gamey mechanics, and the humorous tone rubs me the wrong way for no clear reason.

Might try plowing through the next mission of the original Company of Heroes campaign (Cherbourg I think). Each mission is so super-epic it tires me out fast; like a Dawn of War campaign where every single mission is equivalent to final assault on an enemy base.

(Relatedly, I'll probably DoW:SS a little if I can swing it.)

I haven't played Ortus Regni or Redcon yet; got those during the sale.

Might try the Warhammer: Man-o-war campaign again, depending on where / whether the autosave got me last time. I've had fun in my limited time there, but forgot to save and got wiped by an orc boarding party when I foolishly went down to help with defense instead of staying high to shoot.

Somewhat relatedly, I haven't gotten back to 40K: Battlefleet Gothic in a while.

I'd like to start a Rome 2 campaign -- or at least finish the "Rome origin" tutorial campaign!  :crazy2:

Not far from finishing my next step in my Grand Ages: Medieval campaign for that matter -- surely I'll get to marry the Empress and that'll be a good thing in relation to Byzantine plots, right?  ::) :P
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

More Pride of Nations. No idea what else but maybe Stellaris or Polaris Sector?

After three aborted starts I'm again taking a crack at Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition. I hate the first main quest in the city to solve the murder.  Hoping to get through it this time. Otherwise, it's a great rpg.

VASSAL work cause I'm waaaaay behind.

Maybe some Stellaris.
Maybe some Polaris Sector.
Twilight Struggle PBEM with Jason. Good back and forth battle here... and not because we're good at the game... :idiot2:
Need to get Old School Tactical on the table.
Reading and punching out The War, next on the table if OST ever leaves...

In your opinion, which is the better game....Stellaris or Polaris Sector. Or better yet, if you could only keep one, which would it be?  I'm asking because I am enjoying Stellaris but haven't bought Polaris Sector yet.

Hmmmm.... loaded question.... Stellaris in polished and will only become greater the longer PDox supports it. Polaris Sector is still a bit rough and not as deep... yet... but I think it still gives a better feeling of the vastness of space and the proper time scale feeling to building space ships.
But I haven't been back to PS since Stellaris came out... though that might change with the lasts update for PS.
So, in summation, I don't know.... weak I know but there ya go...  :crazy2:

Thanks for you input. I suspect I'll wait for the winter holiday sales and hope it's on sale then.
