I have taken up an old campaign in Hearts of Iron II as Italy.  I think I have backed myself into a corner, I have Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in a bid to outflank the Brits, but, now that I have them where I want them, I realize that I don't think I have enough materiel to complete my outflanking maneuver.  I may just declare war to see what happens anyways.
Are you using any of the HOI2 mods, or just vanilla?

Vanilla.  I never play any game with mods.  Not that I play a lot of different games.  AI difficulty usually means nothing to me as I am crap at most stuff.

Working Saturday. But have off Sunday.

Might be digging into Mount and Blade Warband - Just native, but its fun. Might try out a mod or two but Just learning the ropes here.

I did get CK II Charlemagne so I might be checking that one out too.

Otherwise ghosty's recommended Star Trek New Horizons mod for Stellaris.- Love the mod. The sound effects, even the new designs for hulls, different races etc.

My one thing with Stellaris is I seem to fall behind the fleet strength. No matter who it is, I'm always dealing with someone with overwhelming fleet power, and I'm struggling to get up to 18 ships? I'll have to dig into it though.

Stellaris.  I usually have trouble getting into space strategy games.  But this one is really grabbing me.

Barth and I have finished our struggle this twilight! -- and not by the gameclock running out early either.  ::) :P

The link to his thread can be found in the first post.

Now we shall need a poll to see what to play next. (We may also set aside an hour or so to meet up on Steam and play it again soon.)
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

It occurs to me that since I have never played any AGEOD game to amount to anything (WW1Gold doesn't count for several reasons), perhaps our next game should be one of those...

Relatedly, I might be persuaded to start a new mp game with someone else, with or without a new Barth game.

(But not picking up UGeek's side of his epic slugging match with Kyz, even though I'd love to see someone continue in his place as the Japanese in WitP:AE. Pretty much everything Kyz was doing at that point, Geek knew about, so reading Kyz's thread wouldn't eliminate someone from contention. But I've played very little of that game, and taking the reins of that stampede mid-stream seems like a bad way to learn it.)

I went to LibertyCon and played:
A lot of cutthroat Spades
A lot of Munchkin Marvel
Revolution by Steve Jackson Games

I also spoke with Steve Jackson.  I saw the Kickstarter versions of Ogre and Nuclear War which were very impressive.

Lots of fun.

I managed some quality gaming time this Saturday. I made some real progress in CMFI's Conrath's Counterattack Campaign and in Pillars of Eternity my Paladin-guy made Level 12. Here's the newly promoted hero.

He's not really that tough. He seems to fall for every Sad Story about friends and or family in trouble and hands-out cash to poor beggars. He even feels sorry for Bears and Lions and tries to sneak past them when they're not looking. But not those damned Trolls. They have to die. He wears a helmet because when Damsels and Serving Wenches recognize him, they all want him to father their babies. He doesn't talk much because.... he doesn't need to.  :knuppel2:
