I've been on the lookout for a bit more traditional "epic fantasy" setting for Savage Worlds.  Think I finally found The One.  :)

Swore off D&D and it's ilk awhile back, taking issue with some of the mechanics used in it (Vancian magic, for one example.. UGH!  ::)  ).  But I still wanted something high fantasy, with an ass-load of monsters, creatures, magic and other such variety.  Definitely wanted something like this for the Savage Worlds system, but without the extra much that most of them add (Steampunk, new animal-like humanoid PC races, etc).  No sky-ships, islands floating in an abyss, or cat- and wolf-people all over the place, thank you.

This one seems to fit what I'm looking for.  Pretty much epic fantasy, but with a Pre-Ragnarok winter apocalypse setting.  Complete with Nordic, Germanic, and Saxon flavoring.

A bit pricey for the size, but the books are jammed full of quality content.  My first impressions are high.  O0

They also started putting out a Land Of Fire version a couple years ago.  Like a Tales Of Arabian Nights setting, on the opposite southern continent where the supernatural forces of Fire, instead of Ice, has been encroaching.  If it's as high quality as the earlier stuff, I wantss it too.

Not sure if the Frostgrave minis setting, from Osprey, uses the same setting.  But they seem to be a little bit similar, if only by the Icepocalypse theme.

"Wiggy," Wade-Williams, the Triple Ace creator, is a goddam machine when it comes to writing rpg stuff.  He churned out plenty of good things for Pinnacle when he was with them, so you'll be in safe hands when it comes to getting content, that is for sure.

I've got a few of his Régime Diabolique books and am happy as they remind me of GURPS supplement books of old; plenty of gaming meat for the price.

Yeah, I've been seeing Wiggy's name on a lot of well-received stuff.  Regime Diabolique looks interesting, but I've also been eyeballing Leagues Of Gothic Horror for the Leagues of Adventure system.  For future consumption.  ^-^  Love games which use dice pools to some extent, so the Ubiquity stuff is a plus if the setting & content hooks me.  O0
