Not the worst list.  Well reasoned. 

I'd put TMP and Final Frontier lower.  Undiscovered Country one higher.

^ Star Trek means so many different things to people and that's why when people rank the movies there is never much agreement.

I think we've had this nerd-gument in other threads here, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't revisit it every six months!  :D

With regards to the movies - Star Trek V is easily the worst. Period. Nemesis is very close. The best are of course Wrath of Khan (natch) and I think First Contact is up there, too. I don't get the hate for the new 'reboot' Star Trek...only because I was firmly in that camp when it first came out, and didn't see it in the theater, but when I did I really liked how they did things. As for Into Darkness, it grew on me a little. I like Benedict and he can certainly play an intense character like Khan as well as Ricardo could back in the day. (Though Ricardo still beats him side-by-side.) I've heard a resounding 'meh' from the Internet on this latest Star Trek film, but I'm wanting to see it in the theater since I've not seen one there, yet (didn't see Into Darkness in the theater, either).

As for characters, I can't get on the Wesley Hate Bandwagon...couldn't then, can't now. Sure, he was annoying, but one thing you need to keep in mind is that those first two seasons were PAINFUL. Rehashes of old OS storylines with a flash of brilliance here and there, though not many. Not even Q left a good impression in those first two episodes of Season 1. My friends (yes, they were nerds too, and probably still are if I'm any indication of that) all hated Wesley's guts. I think my lack of hate for Wes comes from having a lot of respect for Wil as an actor and a self-depreciating kind of guy. Anyone that doesn't take themselves too seriously is good in my book. But even back in 1988-89, I gave the whole show a LOT of slack because while it was PAINFUL (yes, all caps), it still had those flashes that kept me engaged. (See what I did there? "Engage"d? HA! Sigh. :-\ )

I really liked the Hoshi Sato character. I didn't see her as "a poor man's Uhura" like the article says with dripping hipster arrogance. Enterprise wasn't really that bad a series; the writing wasn't as good as the later years of ST:TNG nor DS9, but it was serviceable and entertaining. The theme song sucked Gorn balls, though. (Ha! More nerd references!)

B'Elanna was a great character! F*ck you, article. Though, her eyes don't line up and that's a little odd.

Yar should easily have been in last place of that list.

The Doctor should have been MUCH closer to the top.

But whatever. It's just my opinion(s) and it's the Internet, so I know even less than Jon Snow. (BAZINGA!)

Just got back from seeing Star Trek: Beyond with my kids. I thought it was great. Maybe not as good as the first one, but still very enjoyable.
