totally makes me want to re-watch the movie.

It really re-enforces how much this is Film Noir and not an action film (which most new viewers think they're in for these days).

My favorite film of all time and most collected in my collection. Now if I could only track down the White Dragon cut.

Which one doesn't have the crappy narration? That's my favorite.

I think I've watched them all at some point, but the original theatrical release the most.  I haven't really sat down to over-analyze the differences and think about which I prefer.

Director's Cut, Final Cut and I think the work print they released has little to no narration. Good man :)

It's what has kept me from knuckling down and finding the White Dragon Cut...the newly created footage is awesome but then I find it has narration and I slowed down at that point.

Thank you sir...that may be the finest compliment I have ever been paid.

I was there opening day...all three times :)

I could go on about the importance of the film but the most important thing to me was that I felt like it was the first film to ever tell me the truth.

You may remember a magazine around that time called Future Life...it was all about how we would all have so much free time because robots would be doing all the work and how there would be no war or sickness or famine...how we were going to be living in L-5 stations and on Mars...yeeeaah...then I saw BR and thought 'this is where we are really headed' and short of the flying cars (which we have, just not masses of them yet) it's pretty much working out like BR...

Now if they screw up the new film....must...not...think...bad...thoughts...(lyrics courtesy of X) :)

I own a copy of the Director's Cut. Watch it about once a year.
I've heard of the Final Cut but never seen it.
Never heard of the rest you have mentioned. What do they add/subtract from the story?

Most of the widely available cuts involve the two versions most people are familiar with...the theatrical release that dropped in June of 1982 and bombed and the 'Director's Cut' that was the Dallas/Denver sneak peak work print that hadn't tested well initially and was sent out by accident when a 70mm print was requested by the Los Angeles Fairfax theater for a spring classic festival from Warner Bros (this work print would go on to be known as the Castro Cut) .. This is the origin of what would become the Director's Cut that was released to theaters and the home video market in the early 90's. Of note is that the 'theatrical release' proper was not the one originally released to home video but the 'International Cut' that had about three minutes of extra footage that had been trimmed for US release (for violence in most cases).

The major differences are:

Narrated vs Non-narrated
Happy ending vs No happy ending
Footage that indicates Deckard is a replicant (Director's Cut).

So there are about 6 commercial releases of the film, various work prints floating around and then the fans got involved and took it up a notch. :)

My personal favorite is still the Director's Cut release on Laser Disc. It had the best frame aspect ratio and least amount of trimming to the point of scenes having a whole different context when you could see the whole frame.
