I turn 50 tomorrow so lots of drinking and carousing. If there's time for gaming I don't know what I'll choose.  :buck2:

Happy birthday brotha.

Damn. I wish I was 50 again. And know what I know now. Which is don't waste all your time here. Spend it doing what you won't be able to anymore when you're my age--which I can't remember what that was that was SO important back then. But I remember it being lots of fun anyway.

Alea Jacta Est and I are getting to know each other this weekend and then there's the White March for Pillars of Eternity, which so far is just like the game only white-er. Best part so far is the character's frosty breath coming out when they breath in this cold, northern land and their footprints slowly melting into the snow as they walk through it.

It's fun. Like something else I used to do but can't remember what anymore.  :coolsmiley:

Trying to decide if I need to buy more board games with some credit I received for buying a bunch of contact lenses for my kids, or use it for more useful purposes.

Happy Birthday!  :)

So...my weekend, mostly working Saturday and Sunday in the morning.

However I have been playing more Distant Worlds Universe (thanks to DasTactic's LP of the Star Trek Picard Era mod). Mostly playing, learning, re-starting when things got too crazy, watching a few LPs to get some tips.

Happy Birthday  bbmike! 50 is where the real fun begins!   O0

Well this weekend was supposed to be our annual pool party but the weather is not cooperating... to the tune of constant rain from now until Sunday...  :tickedoff:

So maybe I'll get some Stellaris in and watch the fallout from the release of No Man's Sky.

Was TRYING to get into a WW2 mood simply because I have so many great WW2 games like Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa, Mius Front and HOI IV...but it didn't happen. Kind of in a space mode but feeling like I want more "realism" in my management of that makes sense. Going for Polaris Sector and maybe some Elite.

I really had fun with Stellaris but I don't like the resource aspect: only minerals and energy and they are immediately available. I much prefer the way Polaris handles it in that there are 6 types that Must be extracted and made available. Ships will eat up minerals so you have to watch what components to put on. Also forces you to set up colonies on worlds that may be crap-holes but have important stuff. Seems like a minor thing but that's what's pulling me

What exactly would be classified as more "useful purposes" given you've mentioned buying some boardgames?

You have a sweater vest?

I suppose you wear it whilst smoking your tobacco pipe and occasionally mumbling, "harumph"?

I'm kinda jealous now.

I'm in a bit of a gaming funk at the moment, with nothing really holding my interest.  I started a game of Cults & Daggers, so I suppose I'll put some time into that.  I'm waiting to hear that there's more to do in No Man's Sky besides fly around and admire the scenery, but even at that I wouldn't get it at the current price.

I may just cave and pick up Sengoku Jidai later today.
It's a great game. If you like Pike and Shot, you'll love it. I've just finished the Imjin campaign as the Koreans which was a blast. O0

Happy birthday Mike! 8)

Hope JD has a great time on his hols.  :)

And this weekend, I have just picked up Hegemony 3 - Clash of the Ancients in the Gamersgate sale, so I might have a bash playing the Etruscans - loads of mods too, and I signed into the beta program for extra features.

Also have my ...

* standing Sicily game allied with Panzerde vs Cyrano
* SB FWW Gallipoli game with Cyrano
* FoG playing Anguille's Romans or Carthaginians vs my Spartans if he's back from his hols, VonGlue's (from the Slitherine forum) Early Medieval Germans vs my Later Medieval French, and continuing the battle of Ticinus river between my Carthaginians and Sauron's Romans.
* Maybe get in some Combat Mission and Distant Worlds SP if time permits... ::)
