Battle of Moscow on steam as a DLC for Battle of Stalingrad

Pretty expensive DLC at $50......recently purchased the base game for reasonable price so will continue trying that first, but who knows, maybe some day...

Its sort of in the DCS ballpark, but you get  a few planes in the Battle map/campaign DLC.  The planes for purchase are around 20 bucks so the per plane cost is
about 10-12 dollars and the flight models and such are pretty convincing.

It's actually a standalone release or can be merged with BOS.  The devs plan to continue on and cover the entire war with future installments.  This has become my go to WWII sim, and once they do the pacific, I'll probably gift away my il21946 copy.

That's interesting...on Steam it lists the package under DLC and when you click on it, says the base game is required to play.

Then I think that is wrong.  BOM is a standalone game with the ability to merge with BOS, if wanted.

So basically if you own the steam version, the information from above is correct that it is DLC and requires base game...but if you have their non-steam version, then it can be stand alone if you like.

A bit bizarre to have two different requirements depending on vendor. And I must say I rather prefer the Moscow planeset.

Perhaps they are trying to nudge a unification of the two for online play?

I'll stay with CloD for now.

Until they get rid of their ridiculous levelling system, I'd recommend avoiding BOS/BOM if you're interested in single player.  The game only allows you to create one player profile and forces a silly player XP system on you.  As you climb in XP levels from 1-10 in play, the AI gets deadlier.  Once you hit level 10 (which happens very quickly), the AI fires golden homing streams of death at you.  There's no way to reset this or turn it off.

Now that Loft is no longer in charge, they're promising to revisit some of their more bone headed design choices but I no longer trust them to keep their word.

^ lol, funny you say that because the weekly diary was from jason777 stating that a patch this week will remove all unlocks from the campaign.  So you will not have to grind through the campaign to unlock all the weapon mods and skins for each aircraft.  You can play the campaign at leisure or ignore it all together and just do the pat wilson campaign which is great.  Supposedly they are to anounce the plans for further development of the sim in the next few weeks.  They recently upgraded the engine to x64 architecture and are currently working on moving the graphics to dx11 so they can use VR in the sim....pretty much blows clod or 1946.  Because they are just doing WWII, the development has become more focused as compared to dcs WWII.

This is another one of those where I love the game, but have to hold my nose when giving the company my money.  I have no scruples.

The unlocks aren't that big of a deal.  The unadjustable terminator AI is what needs to go.

I just never understood (or liked) the concept of unlocks in any game.....I know they are supposed to give you something to shoot for and challenge you, but if I pay full price for a game, why can't I play the game like I want and have all the content available to me?  In many of these types of games, I never play long enough to experience everything I bought.
