During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

It had multi-functionality:

1) Fending off bears & wolves while you're bleeding out in the snow.

2) Hunting small game while lost in the snow.

3) Blowing your own cosmonautical head off if something went terribly wrong .. IN SPAAACE!  (Because:  Soviet Engineering)

No, that was the Soviet Back-Up Propulsion System in case the rocket engines went out. Just point away from the direction you want to go and pull the trigger. Simple.

I loved that show as a kid and have had the DVD set buried in my Amazon wish list for a while. Now I may have to float it up to the top and add it to my next order.

I watched the original run in the 70s as a kid. I'm watching the series again now on Netflix. Enjoying it even more now! Great show.  O0
